Anybody got any info on Xedo Records with Byron Lee - I Cant Let You Go on yellow label. Advertised as mis print because allegedly it's Keith and Ken on vocals ?

I think original version was The Bluesbusters (with Byron Lee & Dragonaires) on Kentone in 1964 but this version is also shown as a 1964 release. Know very little about Ska so any info much appreciated and trying to understand whether the Xedo Records Keith & Ken version is a legitimate 1st release.

Thanks

thx Benjj … very interesting
you would have thought it would have been listed as ‘unofficial release’ or something similar to suggest it’s a counterfeit boot

thx

Whoever created the discogs entry said it's probably a Belgian release. Somebody else later changed it to US release and apparently nobody disputed this.

I don’t know the origins of the yellow Byron Lee credited 45

it did get a ep release as Keith and Ken on Kapp in France

thanks Gaz

there's obviously appears tp be a legit release by Keith & Ken (whoever they are ) but the yellow copy looks a bit dubious.in all honesty

Thanks

Ken of Keith & Ken is Ken Lazarus.

B-Side of the Xedo 45 is apparently “Cyclone” by Byron Lee. Apparently there’s no such song released by Byron Lee. Is it infact by another artist or even a cover up? (Which would incidentally confirm my belgian bootleg theory)

Thanks Benji

I guess we need someone who owns/has one to provide more info but as you say looks like an unofficial copy

cheers

And the fact that the bluesbusters version of this song  was massive on the Belgium popcorn scene and was re issued by EMI  in  1980
