When I first met Johnnie Mae Matthews, before I had even recorded My Man, she took me around to some clubs. The first three people that I met were Timmy Shaw, Willie Jones and Gino Parks. I have been friends with and stayed in touch with both Willie and Gino ever since. I hope that he is well, and that all of you record collectors will give something, especially if you've ever listened to any of his records.
