A few changes to the layout

A overall site wider view on desktop view

On the desktop event view, changes to the sidebar

Sidebar is now setup to be a more event guide/site information type of view

eg event guide info such as this forum post should now be showing

While features like rsvp section have now been moved into the main section, similar to the mobile view

Rsvp feature feedback?

The default for this feature was always switched on, promoters had to switch it off if not wanted/needed

Looking at having a trial run of changing this around, so that promoters need to switch it on to use it

The thinking behind this is due to the numbers of events that actually do use it

any views on this proposed change?

This Event Forum

Will be using this 'events' forum for more 'event guide' related in the future, with pinned event guid einfo posts highlighted in teh ecvents guide

Just a quick heads up on what's going on event guide wise

cheers

The event rsvp display has been tweaked

Now if there are 0 attenders at the current moment to a event and rsvps are switched on

...then the secondary 'Attendees' box no longer shows - as there are none!

which makes the display just that bit cleaner

Just a quick word on 'event views'

Due to the inflated event views caused by the 'hostile bot' issue, going to leave the 'event views' display switched off for now

There are two main reasons

Firstly all the event views during the last week or so were inflated greatly by the 'bot' visits and there is no real way right now to deflate these figures

Secondly while have took steps to limit the 'hostile' bots, there is no guarantee that this will not happen again

So in summary, it does seem that the days of using event views as an indicator for both promoters and viewers to gauge the interest in the actual events are over

Not great news but unfortunately can't see any other choice

I have been wondering why the event view had gone ,I personaly thought that this was a very possotive and helpful feature and realy helped people to decide on events to attend , could this not be sorted and put back on ??

Thanks for the feedback, there was an announcement made that showed on every event for a couple of weeks plus 2/3 topics made

Current score is I can't really see a way it could return in it's original form as have no workable way to reliably tell/id 'rogue' bots from legit guest viewers
There's some thinking going on and have a possible method to replace this feature, but it's at the planning stage at moment
