Posted July 7, 200717 yr Picked this up last nite. Not heard it before, not in JM's guide, no info to be found on artist, or label for that matter. I think it's rather nice. Anyone identify it? FV.mp3 Edited July 7, 200717 yr by Trevski
July 7, 200717 yr Johnny Wade on Campo (there's a big clue as well when the label pops up when you play it ), early 60's label owned by Major Bill Smith who also owned Charay, Billie Fran and few others. Edited July 7, 200717 yr by chalky
July 7, 200717 yr early 60's label owned by Major Bill Smith who also owned Charay, Billie Fran and few others. Might have known you would get it Chalky! Think Saus played it out a few years ago. Worth me £30 then you recon? Edited July 7, 200717 yr by Trevski

July 7, 200717 yr Might have known you would get it Chalky! Didn't know you spun it.Think Saus played it out a few years ago. Worth me £30 then you recon? I haven't spun it as you say, not my type of record to be honest. If your happy with what you spent then thats all that matters, it's hardly that well known out so must be worth what you spent.

If your happy with what you spent then thats all that matters, it's hardly that well known out so must be worth what you spent. Mis-read your post. Where it said "big clue when the label pops up when you play it" thought you meant you had one. Then downloaded it myself and found out what you meant! Yup, £30 for a nice tune IMHO, that I havn't heard before, well worth it.!(heard a lot worse for a great deal more...) Edited July 7, 200717 yr by Trevski
July 7, 200717 yr Bobby Skel on credits.... info about him here https://www.geocities.com/spikeopath/bobbyskel.htm Interesting.. Bobbys own version on King, and a list of artists that have recorded his songs Including "Salvation" (the men from Macon were Bobby Skel and the Red Riders Also says Cressa watson AKA Carolyn Sullivan?) But no mention of Johnnie Wade, or Campo label.
July 7, 200717 yr Interesting.. Bobbys own version on King, and a list of artists that have recorded his songs Including "Salvation" (the men from Macon were Bobby Skel and the Red Riders Also says Cressa watson AKA Carolyn Sullivan?) But no mention of Johnnie Wade, or Campo label. It does say Caolyn Sullivan with a question mark. I've always thought Cressa Watson and Martha Starr Sweet Temptation to be one and the same, Sweet Temptation practically identical apart from the break in one. It also says the list incomplete
July 7, 200717 yr It does say Caolyn Sullivan with a question mark. I've always thought Cressa Watson and Martha Starr Sweet Temptation to be one and the same, Sweet Temptation practically identical apart from the break in one. It also says the list incomplete Yes, always thought that too, and the question mark doesn't inspire confidence. List is incomplete, as you say, so I've sent him a label scan. Wonder what Bobbys ice-cream parlour is like?
