Does anyone know if this was released on 7 inch vinyl? IMHO I reckon its one hell of a track and prefer it to Latifahs version.

Yes it's on a 45 on the Chartmaker label:

His 45 as "Bobby Joe Ott" was issued on Metromedia.

He also issued a nice (and expensive!) psych LP on Chartmaker which includes the superb "Shades Of Blue".
