Which soul version do you have a special fondness for ?

I have always cherished the Arthur Alexander version , but recently Clyde Mcphatter's take has been glued to my turntable. They are quite different as vocalists but both achieve near perfection.

Clyde McPhatter brilliant Richard ,I've got it on his ace " Sounds of the big city " LP.Best ,Eddie

I have a special fondness for laura nyro's version with patti labelle. aretha's is not to be sniffed at either.
