Just read an article in an Hip Hop Mag about an old record lable called Black Pattie
The following is quoted from this article
Black Pattie is the holy grail for the record collector around the world. Its story is one of those obscure blues and Jass tales.
Black Patti was a tiny independent that flowered and failed at the very begining of the recording industry. Then as now, there were major lables, in those days ,Victor Okeh and Paromount. and smaller independents. Crucially thorgh, there were also black owened independents, like Black Patti that were born from a frustration with white owened majors that failed tounderstand or respect black music.
Black Patti never sold more then a handful of records and lasted only 12 months. in that time, it released 30 records by little known artists , such as Frankie ,Halfpint Jackson and Cow Cow Davenport. most of these pressings were limited to just a few hundred.
The record is by by the Down Town Boys "Stak 'O'Lee Blues" of which there is only 1 copy in existance and would cost you £50,000 if it were for sale.
And I was told it was Frank Wilson before all the others were found
