Just to let you know that the best version of Tony's "Living in the footsteps" has been issued on 45. This is the version I used to play off of acetate and is not the version released on Tony's 2003 CD. In short a wonderful midpace stepper.

Yes it is good. He'd told me you were in contact with him & giving support to his work. My copy is on its way :D:D .

He'd been in touch with Brett & l'il old me thanking us for buying & playing his record (Suddenly). We thanked him for recording such a brilliant record.

Have you got any plans to bring him over here Steve?

Cheers,

Jamie :D

Jamie I am not a promotor - but agree someone should bring him over. He's a live wire. Funnily enough got the acetate in the early 90's and only guessed it was him. It took a few years to confirm - I think we got in touch via David Cole who interviewed him in In the Basement.

I totally agree he should be brought over by someone. He's got the well known classics and some new material. Probably suited to an event with a more 70's/Modern outlook.

Incidently, the flip of 'Footsteps'; 'Hey World' isn't too shabby and grows on you the more you listen to it.

And it's good to see an Artist not getting shafted and hopefully earning a bob or two into the bargain

  • 2 weeks later...

i ordered a copy of this off the web-site and got it about 4 days later - couldn't believe how quickly it arrived

anyway, hadn't heard it before, but it's the best $8.75 i've ever spent, a real grower, and i'd recommend to anyone with a generic taste in soul music

cheers for top-tip steve :P
