Ace Records have pushed out a digital release just in time for that day... Release Notes Step into a world of soulful nostalgia with the perfect blend of warmth, beauty, and precision just in time for Valentine's Day. In 1967 – ZZ Hill recorded his soulful take on 'When a Man Loves a Woman,' a masterpiece crafted just a year after Percy Sledge claimed the top spot on the Billboard charts with the original. From the velvety vocals to the carefully produced arrangements, 'Valentine's Soul' – is released just in time for Valentine's Day. 40 years after the tragic accident that would later on claim Z.Z Hill's life it's time for the world to hear his masterful version of 'When a Man Loves a Woman'. Don't miss the release that will set the mood for an unforgettable Valentine's experience. For two decades Z Z Hill was a go-to guy for anyone who needed a shot of blues-tinged soul music. His catalogue of recordings includes many masterpieces of southern soul, his Texas roots showing through wherever he recorded. After years of critical acclaim, and a late flourish of hits, he was about to take his career to a bigger stage in 1984 when complications from the aftermath of a car crash robbed black American music of one of its finest singers. Event Date: 2 Feb 2024 A Great night here at the Festival Inn, the atmosphere was electric it was like New Year Eve all over again , a big Thanks to everyone for tuning a good night in to a great night, A BIG thanks to The Man Himself and Mr Party Man Rob Yate for playing all best in soul music the dance floor was buzzing all-night long, We are back here on Saturday 10th for our Northern Soul and Motown Night. Event Date: 3 Feb 2024 Second visit to this much better, more tasteful and homely venue. Dimension wise, its perfect!, adequate seating, reasonably large floor, and a quality one if just in need of a polish?, low slung ceiling making for great accoustics....Baz Maleedys set up is 1st class anyway.
