What year mon ami?

Certainly were a bit special. More recently done Chi Soul - a modern type thingy in Chichester which I thought would die on its arse, but was rammed. Quality atmosphere. Then few years back a do somewhere near the south coast (to be precise - middle of nowhere) a do orgainised by Steve C, Russ, Jason & others. Again packed & a brilliant day/night. I remain confused as to why the all dayer is no longer a regular, viable format?

Sad to see only 1 All Dayer on Today (BH Monday) and its more of a mod do than strictly northern. Strange that as we've aged all nighters remain reasonably strong but all dayers seem to be few & far between. When was the last truly great all dayer?

Following on from the 'What's The Best Line In A Record?' thread which I really enjoyed, I was wondering what the most iconic lyrics on the northern scene might be? By iconic I think I mean that if you heard said lyrics used in some conversation or quote away from the scene, you would immediately connect them back to the soul scene. Appreciate Frank Wilson might come to mind, but lets give that one a rest.......

Why were some 12" pressed at 45rpm & some pressed at 33rpm? Was there any logic behind the speed they were pressed at? Is it possible or indeed easy to look at 'unmarked 12' disc & tell just by looking at the grooves what the correct play speed is? Cheers Col.

Absolutely fecking awful, the pits, morally wrong, repugnant, sickening, loathsome. I could go on, but I only get a short break for lunch.
