Thanks Bob and Dave! Bob - never noticed any wear on my copy - pretty much a minter - will give it a good close inspection later though. I like the funk side - starts off a bit slow but then builds nicely - not 'funky edged northern' at all - but maybe 'northern-edged funk'? - with a capital "F". Any thoughts on value with either sweet or funk collectors anyone please? Cheers Richard

Just pulled my copy and, like the copy in the scan above, it has a small inked stamp at the bottom just above the printed writing "Detroit Sound Recording Co." The stamp says P. 1974 on the top line and then underneath that DETROIT SOUND, INC. That dates it nicely Cheers Richard

Hi everyone I have a copy of the Showstopping Super Sonics - Ear Action (and You Better Quit It) / What Kind Of Girl Is She (Detroit Sound Records #2883). What an absolutely brilliant name for a group!! Always wanted a copy just for the name Sometimes seen listed as "D Records" - part of the De-To and Music Now set up. Seems quite rare. Apart from the above, I can't find out much about the group or record. Topside is a nice funk track. The flip is slow sweet soul. Scan is not my copy but nicked from Collectors Frenzy. So I guess this is more evidence that it is likely to be an original. I thought it was a joke about "Last of the Summer Wine", Compo and Cornwall in England meaning somehow it was a bootleg. Are you saying that there were two J D Bryants that went through eBay around 2008 - one sold for USD $10k as shown above and got picked up by Popsike - the other sold for USD $24k and did not get caught by Popsike listings? Cheers Richard
