  1. Cheers Pete - yes, get your point make - different situation to what I was describing Fair play Richard
  2. Thanks again Robb Much appreciated I have and really like Lee Gates - Nothin' But Wonderful/Don't Make It A Habit on Enterprise - prefer the latter slower track actually - although Lee's vocal do go a bit all over the place Will give it a listen against the Dramatics on Crackerjack as you suggest What else did Lee record? Great info - thanks Richard
  3. Thanks for the info Bob DSR = Detailed Seller Rating for eBay from a quick Google Fine - but showing the world every item you or I have purchased recently and how much we paid for it is out of order in my book. If any other place you bought stuff from posted up your recent shopping lists and bills online what would we all think? Will I stop using eBay - no That's why they can get away with such disgusting sh*te Cheers Richard
  4. Fair point Pete but you should still know what you want for it. If people have to 'bid' you probably are going to get a price you then have to haggle over - no? What if I offered you £30 - what I want to pay - for a £60 record - that you want £70 for? For me it's always the seller states the price - then accept or haggle if necessary Cheers Richard
  5. With offers - I think it's always good to name a minimum bid - to avoid misunderstandings etc. I also think bids on anything should be based transparently on proxy bidding - an increment above the next highest bid - rather than blind. After all, if you were in an auction room you would know what the last person had bid Just my opinion Cheers Richard
  6. PM like email is a user-oriented medium - we all think it's sent so job done Then again people have real lives - things happen and sometimes emails and PMs don't get read, or not properly I'm on here quite a bit, but always rushed off my feet Sometimes I will be able to read a PM about a record immediately. Other times it may be a few days. If I post a want, probably like many others, I may want to see what offers come forward before replying. Sometimes, occasionally, I will read a message - so it shows as read - but I'm not in a position to reply - either because I need to consider, or I am maybe just rushing to pick up messages while in the middle of something else. Rudeness, and lack of courtesy is one thing - being busy, as many people are, in a world that expects an instant response to every sent email or PM is something different I think - expectations are sometimes too high Cheers Richard
  7. Here's a red one like mine Flip side (instrumental) just says 'A Dream' I think - no artist details at all. Cheers Richard
  8. Da Da! Know what you mean though mate - a few on Popsike do as well Cheers Richard
  9. Hi all I was just searching for info on a record using Google search. Quite an obscure one, so there were not many search results returned. I recently picked up a copy on eBay and I was surprised to see one Google result with "eBay feedback for ..." and my user name thrown up. I clicked on the link and I could see all of my recent eBay purchases with dates, item details, price paid etc. I tried some other possible user names and could see the same for other people. F*ck me How can this be allowed. eBay does not even let you see who won an auction these days - but then you can just Google on a record, or search on a user name in eBay and see exactly what the person has bought and paid. Is this common knowledge and have I been just missing this? Cheers Richard
  10. Thanks for the info guys Anyone got a scan of the Same E Solo on Enterprise please, or can confirm its existence? Cheers Richard
  11. Cheers Kev - thanks very much for the info I have the Roy "Cortez" Butler - 'A Dream' on the familiar red labelled Boo on styrene with correct credits. The flesh-coloured labelled release is on vinyl and is miss-spelled Bulter as you said. Also have 'Mary's House' which again on the usual red-labelled styrene copy - but no spare I'm afraid mate Cheers Richard
  12. Nice one Robb - thanks very much for the info - a convincing account indeed If it's the same Lee Gates that recorded on the Detroit Enterprise label then he definitely has a distinctive vocal style Cheers Richard
  13. Hi all Anyone tell me anything about Roy "Cortez" Butler who recorded on Boo records please? What else did he record? Any background about who he was? Thanks in advance. Cheers Richard
  14. Hi all I'm looking for confirmation on the Dramatics - Toy Soldier on Crackerjack 4015 please. Have seen conflicting reports on whether or not this is the same Dramatics that recorded on Wingate, Sport, Volt etc. I have also seen the Crackerjack record listed as being released in 1963 as well as 1968 (sounds more like '63). The Crackerjack release certainly has Detroit connections - as can be seen from the credits on the attached scan. Can anyone answer these questions please - and if a different group what is the line-up please? Cheers Richard
  15. I reckon the rarest is the copy without the Mike Terry credit by quite a margin Cheers Richard
  16. Thank you Robb - yes, an elusive guy it seems - maybe a pseudonym? Richard

  19. Dramatics - Your Love Was Strange (Volt) This YouTube clip should be the rarer first release #4029 on the blue label from 1969 The others on there seem to be the second 1972 orange label release #4082 Cheers Richard
