  1. PayPal's been OK for me, it's Ebay that have screwed me up!
  2. Yeah I don't know where the "on it's arse" came from it's pretty groovy in my little corner. I think James is originally from a less polite scene than ours usually is, but I think the banter is used to get points across or just publicity. I must admit I was a bit surprised at some of the stuff on the Modern sites too.
  3. It's very good indeed, but not in the Northern top 100. Possibly about # 776 but that might be because my faves would be mainly mid 60s sounds not this slightly later influenced period. I like hearing it out, but I do think the vocal backing hook, which is what makes it for me, is nicked off another pop record, but I can't remember which. Tony Rounce would know.

  5. And in a nutshell it's her greatest dance hits for people who either aren't Millie completists or like the dancers all in the same place. And there are some good edits and a special original US mix or two to boot. Sean did a fab job and alerted me to quite a few I didn't (and should have) know.
  6. If it's Zell sanders label. I need an Ex/M of the PG but any nick if there are any other releases out there. Cheers Ady

  8. Thanks Sebastian and Tony
  9. Sorry no, but one day hopefully.
  10. Yes I'm afraid it was unreleased though there is one 10" original acetate around that Andy Pollard has.
  11. Whoops, what I meant to say was, not unless someone turns up a copy, there's no tape.
  12. Latest news and info on Cleethorpes Weekender 6-8th June 2008, new signings , artists and more inc latest flyer LATEST NEWS The Cleethorpes weekender on 6-8th June has a new signing ---- SOUL OR NOTHING - Steve Cato's eclectic room for lovers of all styles of quality black music, which has been so successful at Soul Revolution, will host the Friday night get together in the bijou, upstairs, alternative room from 1-6 am. This room has at last been fitted with air conditioning (the site is continually being updated and renovated by the new owners), so this cracking party room / suite will be really humming now that the dancers will be able to breathe. Tef's hugely successful 5 records per DJ Saturday night will run again; Sharon is working on the Hors D'ouevres already. THE ARTISTES Are really up for this, they've been rehearsing their songs and in the case of the Charmaines, their dance moves; determined to give you a weekend to remember. We still have weekend dance passes available, but you'll have to sort your own accommodation. http://www.6ts.info for more details. Balances are due by the end of this month, but as it's nearly there and I'm behind as ever, let's say May 15th. Full passes are £59 each (£61.25 PayPal) All deposits are £20 each (£20.75 Pay Pal) Dance pass balances are £39 (£40.50 PayPal) Full accommodation balances if you already have confirmed deposits are £69 (£71.50 PayPal) The weather's picking up now and we're in the mood now it's getting closer. Roll on June (the month that is) Ady & Charlie

  14. Thanks. It's highly unlikely that there's be two dus called Don & Ron in the Southern states, though they don't sound particularly similar.
  15. What a star you are Des; spot on and the yellow anorak is on its way. Thanks
  16. Anyone got any idea, they sing together like they've been at it for years.
  17. But have you got the 60s ink and paper to do it with?
  18. Thanks Bob, that's another to add to the list that I'd love to hear/see. Ady
  19. The flip was an R&B hit so it's not that rare a 45, though utterly brilliant.
  20. I've got a juke box with only original US 45s and their correct printed strips. My best Northern one is the Cooperettes Shing A Ling, the Vondells beats that but if I had it I'd have to put an original on the juke box.
  21. Thanks but the Jaynetts are quite well known as they had a girl group hit with Sally Go Round The Roses and the rest of their releases are relatively common. Cheers Ady PS Freida was a J&S label too, I only know Pat Garvis on it.
  22. Thanks Graham and Bob, I'm OK for those two, yes the Trouble I've Had was probably the only hit they had in the soul era. I'm OK for Clarence Ashe it's those weird duets and Jimmy Armstrong that I need most. Cheers Ady
  23. Ah that's where I should be. T Smith 2 has obliged, thanks folks.
