Aguilera Sample
yes it was at the jazz bistro in the early nineties, where I cut my teeth. The talc room featured DJs Danny deCourtelle, that girl Lynn, Tim Boogaloo, Irish Paul, it was run by Percy who now heads fashion label PPQ

Aguilera Sample
The new Christina Aguilera single "Ain't no other man" has a sample in it that I recognise and is driving me mad. The brass "stabs" throughout the chorus and in the break are from a 60s club soul record that used to get frequent plays down at Happiness Stans. Anyone know more? https://www.christinaaguilera.com/

Big Dee Irwin 'i Only Get This Feeling' - Later Version?
Does anyone know who did a later, cooler version (70s I think) of "I only get this feeling" by Big Dee Irwin. Apologies if it's a dead obvious question

Ever desperate to get good music on GMTV (where I work), I've offered to find a soul tune to back one of Tony Blackburn's competition strands. The competition's to win 10,000 pounds so it would be good if the song was appropriate, IE about winning or money etc. Any ideas? BTW it would have to be available on CD- So Much Northern Soul

For ease, I've given the funeral details to Kolla to put on www.6ts.info- Sad News - Lynn Davis
I have rough details of Lynn's funeral in order to get feed back on who can attend. It's Friday week, the 2nd of September, at 11:30 in the morning, it is in Gloucester and, on making brief travel enquiries it is much better to drive as the trains from London are extremely expensive at that time in the morning. It takes nearly three hours to drive from Holloway, and two on the train from Paddington. Car pooling would be best, Trickster may have room in his car, also worth asking Will and Tony Smith. Please e-mail me at ambaflash@yahoo.com if you think you can attend, just so Sylvia can know what kind of numbers for the wake.- Sad News - Lynn Davis
This very sad news has sent shock waves over the soul and mod scenes. Lynn was a sparkling presence at any event and will be greatly missed. I was lucky to be a friend outside the scene too, and spent many drunken evenings at her house battling against her in a game of celebrity, which she always had to win. She was a great influence on me with music, clothes and general style. I'm grateful for knowing her. PM me for her Mum's address- Ian Levine " The Godfather " Of Northern Soul
That's an interesting site, it states Terry Noel as the first to "mix" between singles therefore being the first superstar DJ, but in the (IMO) best documentarty about Northern shown only up North a few years ago, Jimmy Saville claims to be the one who invented Djing when he told the owner of a club he needed two record players, "are they in that much of a hurry to hear the next record Jimmy?" he said, "my people are - yes" retorted Jimmy.- Very Drunk
