Hi All, Last night, I listened to the Freeman Williams song which is a great Deep Soul ballad but All I remember is that the 45 was blue colored 521 label. I do not know the song title. Does anybody here know about this 45? What is the song title of that Deep Soul ballad and what is the record number? And this is very important to me, that is...where can I get/purchase from? Most of Japanese still and basically like a deep soul ballad since 60-70s but they are also listening the dancer with deep voice like gospel-ish, strong and very hot voice which we feel the blackness. We are basically enjoying with those voices. So, we listened both ballad and dancer by James Carr, Spencer Wiggins, Wilson Picket for example. They were all deep soul singers for us. On the other hand, I can say we do not like a poppy voice. We understand what the Northern Soul Is by now. But in the 60-70s we called the soul music from like Detroit, Chicago where are located in the Northern area of the US is the Northern Soul as same as the Southern Soul like materials from Stax/Fame/Quinvy/Hi, etc. We did not called dancers from Goldwax/Stax/Fame as the Northern Soul at the time. We called they were the Southern Soul even the dancer. So, we felt strange when people called the dancer by James Carr is Northern Soul at the time. Anyway, these are old story in Japan. As for the Eddie Parker's Miko single, I believe the Japanese had brought its price up in the market due to its rarelity and strong demanding. Almost copies of this single currently exist in Japan were imported from the UK. I guess it is because the deep soul ballad "If I Must Go" did not meet the UK soul fans' interest. But I would like to say that this song was the one which spotted a light to Eddie Parker's name as a great deep soul singer in Japan and then the Japanese started collecting his singles including "I'm Gone" in Japan.

For Japanese, this "I'm Gone" by Eddie Parker is a pure deep soul. Peoples outside of Japan think only ballad is a deep soul. No, this is wrong. "Deep Soul" is not called for only ballad songs. What we, Japanese, call deep soul is depend on the "voice" which means no concern to ballad or dancer. So, Eddie Parker is called as a deep soul singer for Japanese as his voice is deep enough.

Honestly, the Japan Post has been giving a great service, fast and no missing packages at a low cost. Usually, the postage of one 45 from Japan to any oversea countries is only around 450 yen which means only $4, and if you pay another 410 yen (about $3.50) for a registered mail. You can compare to a shipping cost from the US at $13. Yet, Japanese Yen dropped so much in few months which is good news for the foreign buyers to buy from Japan.
