  1. Me and Ian found a load of stuff in the basement of a doo-wop collectors house just outside Chicago in 2001. The guy and his wife had bought all the stock when a record store had closed down in the town around 20 years earlier. Tangeers, Clarence Hill (2 stock copies), Ruby Andrews, Rockmasters etc and then in the middle was a copy of The Epsilons. Had us puzzled at the time how a small town store near Chicago was stocking Shrine records. Mark
  2. Whats the value now on Cookie Jackson on Progress? And do you have any scans of the gals you have to offer??
  3. Bloody hell, its getting like John's price drop auction !! Could be a new site feature, good for the buyers but rubbish for the sellers !!
  4. Had to email Lew Stanley about something else so I asked him about the box of Norwood Long. Below is the reply that his wife Marsha sent me. Lew said in 1996 he bought a 30 count box in Phillidelpha. He has not had a copy in 5 years, but would love to buy some if you know of any. Thank you for the information.
  5. I also think that just because you see a record on his list 3 times in a row, it doesn't mean he had 3 copies. It just means that no-one has offered up to his minimum amount on the record. Mark
  6. Frank had a Liza Mae in his box at Roll Royce alldayer Jas. Stevie Brown was after it but Frank told him he had £150 on it I think Frank still has it !! See you Saturday Mark

  9. Had a copy of this for about 8 years and just had another copy turn up a short while back. I know there was some talk a while back about Lil Peddler churning these out and were they legit. They look totally different with the 1st one being a sort of turquoise blue and the 2nd one being more of a light blue similar to the blue Brunswick labels. Anyone got an idea of value and is there any difference between the 2 copies? Thanks for any help. Mark

  16. I think this has become worse of late due to some (big) DJ's wanting to play at 2 or 3 different venues in a night. Made a decision now at our venue not top book DJ's that we know will arrive shortly before their time and scuttle off 5 minutes after they have been paid. Much better off having a DJ who wants to enjoy the night and socialise with the punters than just grabbing as much cash as they can. IMHO Mark

I don't think anyone has said that he is doing anything wrong, everyone I know that has dealt with him says that he is 100% ok. I think the people who have posted have done it more to stop people buying at a high price and then finding later they could have had it cheaper. I know there is always this risk when buying records but I don't suppose the guy who has just paid over $2000 will be happy when he hears that he could have bought it last week at a buy it now price of $600. If 200 copies of a record turning up is not going to effect prices how come Danny Moore now struggles to sell at £40? A friend of mine bought a Clara Hardy for $1400 (18 months ago) and is not happy that the price now is down to $240 and he is still putting up a copy a week. This friend loves the record but knows that if the record is ever sold there is not much chance of getting back the price paid. When people put up posts like the ones on this thread its more just a sharing of information than a slagging off of the seller. In my opinion. Mark

Just looked in the JM book and it has no mention of a "Bell Sound" matrix Adam. 1st mix with nashville matrix + and 97700 scratched out. 2nd mix with nashville matrix and no 97700. Just looked in my boxes and found 2 white DJ copies of the 1st mix so could sell one. Not sure what price it goes for now. Mark
  19. I have an original one up in sales now. Its a hard boot to tell, very close to the original apart from the boot has pb in the run out groove and also the Pre-vue logo is embossed into the label. I have had several enquiries and (I think) its close to being sold. Mark
