"I just can't say it" was released on Budweiser Showdown 12 inch and "Come to me" 7 inch on the T.a.p.s. label prior to the uk lp. Great stuff!!

I got a Al Mason, don't think it's remotely as rare as King Tutt though. Al Mason 12 inch was released 4 years before the the 45 and on the Al & the Kidd label.

I also played this downstairs the last time in Gothenburg, you might have heard the whole thing there some really nice spoken parts etc towards the end of it. Having said that it is probably a bit too long but you can always make use of the mixer after the spoken bit. And lookout on eBay seen quite a few copies there the last months!

Yes the french sound is a peculiar one to my ears tend to go for the late 80's heavy programmed tracks . But virtual scene is probably spot on description of the swedish modern scene as well! Agreed many japanese collectors dig deep probably has to do with that they have more of a collector than club scene.

Despite that I only have a little insight on Norway and Finland soul and collector scenes I think it is safe to say Sweden have the biggest ones. About popularity of this certain track I'm sure a few of us listen to mp3's of this at home and all agree that it is a quality track. When it comes to actual copies I think only Magnus Blomquist have it, he in his turn got it from Jens Chreisti which is another one of the less than ten people that are buying big money modern soul 45's. Gothenburg is strong hold for northern soul, Stockholm where I'm from is more mixed northern and modern but again you can barely talk about scenes and where stuff get's played here as it is only a small group of people. There is no dancefloor rare soul club in Stockholm now, in Gothenburg there is two - Soulastatic which is monthly and Real side that have a few dates every year. But agreed, sometimes only 2 people is needed to create one expensive 45! And the real crazy record prices you'll find only in the UK, japanese collectors are overall more moderate.

You might not know this Simon but it is less than 10 people in Sweden who buys £300 or more modern soul 45's.

Nope a different one. 45 also came out with a picture sleeve. I'm a bit confused about his LP's, the Homeboy I've seen with three different sleeve colors and the track listing seems to differ on them as well?

Hi Barry luckily enough not as expensive as their Mountain 45 but can be tricky to find. Bought two copies last year at £50 each, traded away the VG condition spare to a friend and kept the other one in my collection (kind of collect hard tk releases..). Regards, Karl
