  1. Oh yes!
  2. Debbie - The test kit needles tell me my blood sugar level, so i know how many bags of crisps & chedders to eat! I understand alot of people dont really know about this condition, but it can be quite dangerous without the savory nibbles, that i eat every two hours, i can go straight into a coma, or if i eat too many sweet things, i can be more aggressive than a yob after alchol! I think clubs need to provide a good service for everyone Alchol if you want it (while keeping an eye on folk that do get out of hand), water & soft drinks if you dont, snacks & crisps etc, & consider people with disabilities & health problems, because without the paying public there would be no club!
  3. Debbie - But would you still allow someone to bring in some crisps or other food? One venue i went to would not let me bring in my food, that i do have to eat every two hours due to hypoglycemia plus my diabetic needles
  4. A DJ should be seen and heard !
  5. Pensioners Is that the over 50s???
  6. Debbie - Im just Debbie, no label, no tag!
  7. Debbie - No! Dont ban crisps, or even chocolate, biscuits, cakes, or sweets! Why cant we have chips & pizza too?
  8. Debbie - I have never had a drink myself, so i would not miss it! I have always got plenty of enjoyment from the music & dancing, i understand that some people like a drink, Ian my partner drinks, but with some folk it can get a bit out of hand, some seem to be there just for a late bar & not the music, then when they have had a few drinks they get up & have a dance, (with the drink still in hand) & fall over everyone, which can ruin a good night out! I think there is nothing wrong with folk having a drink, as long as they can keep themselves under control! If i did drink i would go to a pub! But if i want to dance, i go to a soul night! Anyway beer gives you a beer gut, ask Ian! But he has now lost a stone in weight with no beer drinking, nice one my love, well done!
  9. Debbie - Im from London & i went to alot of Northern Soul/Mod nights around London, Brighton & Southend from The early 80s, we had some great nights at The Mousetrap, Almost Grown, The Underground, Capitol Soul Club, 100 Club, Scenesville & many others, (i found my old membership cards the other day ), with the music being all 60s & alot of the folk dressed in retro & vintage clothing, it was blinding! When i moved to Lancashire 6 years ago, i did have a bit of a shock, the first night i went to in Wigan, i was the only woman dressed in vintage clothing, but i made a few friends that night & got a few of the ladies back into wearing a good bit of vintage Some of the venues up north do tend to have a bit more talc on the floor, one of these days im going to slip over & brake everything! I still hear some great 60s music, but we do tend to hear alot of the same tracks, when there is still alot of old music that does not get played, which is a shame! I dont mind the odd 70s track, but that modern stuff leaves me cold, i cant even stand the music on the radio, ask Ian! Im now living in Lincolnshire & have found a few great nights in Peterbourgh, Nottingham etc... I never went to the Casino, being a bit too young, some of my older friends did & one of them left me all his original Casino patches, i have put them on my bag in memory of my best friend, as i know this is what he would of wanted! I had a fantastic time Down South & im still having a great time now The only problem that i have with the North is that its "TOO COLD!"

  11. well, the most i've (Ian) paid for a record was yesterday, £22 for a copy of 'wait a minute' - Tim Tam on UK Island. quite a good deal, huge again in the East Mids. The most paid up until then was £4 for 'Darkest Days' , from the Casino record bar

  20. saw Jnr Walker there, i thought it was about 79/80. also went to an alldayer there in the late 70's. The only bus was about 10am so i had a bloody long wait until it opened . I remember Soul Sam & Bub spinning. The 'oldies' room was tiny, 4 people on the dancefloor pretty much filled it .
