  1. I asked the same question on here recently on my Condition, Condition, Condition thread, in my book condition is king I can not see the point in buying a poor condition, poor sounding record no matter how rare it is, what's the point in buying a record that you can not play it's pointless, the condtion goalpost is often moved on the big ticket items yet it should be the same condition rules for all records, someone mentioned the cracked copy of 'The Twans' recently on Ebay ok to buy it but you try selling it on as a cracked record to a dealer and they would decline or laugh at you, mint Twans priceless a cracked one worthless or that's how it should be. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  2. Bugger me how the devil are you mate, that was long long ago when were still all in short trousers lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  3. What does that mean exactly lol? Mark Bicknell
  4. That's a little over 12p per track, wonder if Tesco's can beat that for value lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  5. Now there's a thought 'Northern Soul Mega Mix' lol on a serious note I can't see how this CD really makes any difference what the hardcore people do, makes no difference to me whatsoever. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  6. Just seen the advert, it will sell in bucket loads which is the whole point of putting it out to the masses. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  7. Tuff question this but if I'm pushed it has to be Jimmy Gilford - Heartbreaker - Solid Hitbound, a slowie but what emotion. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  8. Cheers for that, so it's from Holland, possibly a Dutch bootleg? still an interesting item I think, any ideas on value? Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  9. You mean you have found copies of the Ray And Dave on Grant or other Grant records? thanks for the information, just wanted to find out where it came from. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  10. Thanks knew there was a connection there somewhere. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  11. I think you have but who knows lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  12. The address and credits on the Mica release suggest it's a Chicago record, produced by Bob Lee, infact I'm pretty sure he had something to do with the label (owner?) if my memory serves me correctly, certaily there is a Bob Lee/Jerhart/Mica connection via Jimmy Robbins etc. Mica Records Inc, 1823 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago. Wrong, Wrong, Wrong was written by R.Caldwell, Jimmy Dobbins of Crash records fame out of Chicago and Bob Lee. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  13. Very possible but I bet Ray And Dave had no knowledge their record came out in Holland lol or that it became a popular tune in soul clubs around the world, like I said weird this record collecting lark. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  14. Thanks Monster both you and Pete have now confirmed it's Dutch but still a mystery using the Grant design, incredible what came out in Europe. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  15. They may have been from Detroit but the Mica release is from Chicago. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  16. The flip is 'Six Lonely Nights' tend to agree with you regarding it possibly being a foreign boot, there is no ident or numbers in the deadwax nothing, sound quality is spot on as Mica USA original, very odd this lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  17. Makes me think the Grant 'Ray and Dave' is not from the same Grant as the 'Bobby Laurel' 45 you mentioned, must come from outside the USA? Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  18. Got a white U/A promo sorry not for sale as it took me ages to locate a nice clean copy, fantastic tune that could do with some turntable action once again, hope you find a copy but it is a tuff one as I suspect that very few copies will want to leave collections. Regards - Mark Bicknell
  19. The plot thickens here lol Mica Records release of Ray And Dave is Chicago based, now we have a possible Dutch and Detroit connection how odd this record collecting lark is lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  20. Thought it may of been from Europe, cheers Pete and this one has no picture sleeve, must be pretty obscure then, you watch some smart arse on here will have the picture sleeve if there is one, let's hope so.....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  21. Trying to find out where this is from? has to be very hard to find on Grant Records, came out of course in the States on Mica, top tune and hard enough to find a clean copy on the well known lable but where is Grant records from?
