  9. Solomon Burke -Don't give up on me Just sublime! Had Annette in tears (in a good way though) - and me too! Sure this snippet was from Jool's hootenany thingie and I remember it stopped me in my tracks then. Truly soulful performance.
  10. Doing some research on the Astors for my next book at present - the communications director at the Stax-Soulville Foundation told me in passing that the Otis Redding thing is on tonight, he had a lot of input into the documentary.

  20. Its on Goldmine's "Groovesville Review" # 121. Cd from 1997
  21. James Carr - Dark End of the Street - Goldwax PM me if you have one, condition and price please, thanks! Mark
  22. Yes was unreleased at the time. Don't think anyone has brought it out on 45 since the CD came out, but may be wrong. I have it on a 10" acetate (along with other unreleased detroit goodies, Spyder Turner, Joey Kingfish, Edwin Starr etc ) from Mr Bicknell, which I think was cut from the tapes before the CD came out. Fantastic record, classy. A lot of the ones on the unreleased Groovesville CD all sound sparse and half finished, but this one is a bit more complete. Its only fault is its a tad longer than it needs to be IMO.
  23. Curtis Johnson (lead vocal for most of the Astors stuff) only lists the Satellite track I was asking about as the Astors - Chips in his version of their discography
  24. Mr Caldwell - Love Bandit - Scorpio SOLD £170 including postage, excellent condition labels and vinyl. Please note I can usually only access the post office at weekends. PM me if interested, Thanks, Mark
