  1. I`m 36, i always say "when i started i was 18 and the youngest, now i`m 36 I`m still the youngest"....maybe not true but there are`nt many who attend and Dj regularly who are younger....... My Dad went to the wheel...thats how i started....... Chris
  2. Unfortunately I can never get this show to listen to .... Hi Mand, hope you are ok, Helen was saying yesterday that she has`nt seen you in ages....... I was playing the tape of me on the Radio in Germany the other day....I`ll have to do you a copy of it...guess the show on www.solarradio.com will be much the same apart from Mark translating everything i say into German! Hope to see you soon babes.... Chris.
  3. I dont think you can beat the Trends "Not too old to cry" from a mid-tempo 60s point of view......but what about Richard tate "Shes got the time to love me" from the 70s....? Chris
  4. I have one of these Sebastian, found it in the US. I was also under the impression it was a bootleg although it does "look" like an original record. Chris
  5. Willington Soul night was absolutely packed on Saturday night, standing room only, must have been near to capacity which is 300........ Chris
  6. Mark, last copy i heard of being sold went for £80..... DeeJay.....Good to hear from you mate, send me an email i need your new address.... chris.soul@btinternet.com Know what you mean about Mac davis Pete...its bloody catchy as hell though..... Chris
  7. I asked in the post office the other day and the helpful girl in there weighed one 45 and put it thru that package sizing thing they have. She thinks its going to cost nearer £2.00, at the moment its £1.36......although she was keen to point out she had`nt had her training yet! chris
  8. Apart from the Elvis stuff....and a couple of others i thought the whole 78 thing was dead...at least thats what the US dealers tell us. I`ve seen places with thousands of mint 78s for sale and nobody even wants to take a look at them.... Chris
  9. Not me mate - I never knew his wife.... I'll get me coat............... ............... I used to play table tennis with a bloke called John Pope and his wife was lovely.....bit of a milf actually...... Where`s that cloakroom mace....? Chris
  10. daddy maxfiled i've always been in love with you UA ........... Yeah, Great tune mate, John Fisher plays it in the West mids....known it for a couple of years but proving a real bugger to find...... Chris
  11. I wonder if John Pope, the lead singer is still in the nick. He got life for killing (strangling i think) his wife..... Still, Its something we have all being guilty of thinking about! Chris
  12. I was spinning the excellent Mac Davis "Im just in love" on Columbia and was thinking about how come this has been undiscovered until recently. Anyone got any more tips on major labels not yet widely known.....??? Chris
  13. Maybe at crossover venues! I've seen people follow really good 60's DJ's, play 70's and kill it dead .......... Maybe years ago but not now...I`d say that 70s is what most of the dancers want these days...I`m talking about "Northern" venues too........ As I said I`d love to do a 60s only set but you have no chance...always get 70s requested too... Chris
  14. Bloody hell i usually give these sleeves away........... chris
  15. I love my 70s but sometimes I`d love to DJ at a northern do and play a 60s only spot as there are so many tunes that dont get a look in.....absolutely no chance! The punters want 70s, probably more than they want 60s...its what packs the floor..... Chris.
  16. Tell that Chris Anderton bloke to get to the back of the queue
  17. I guess its between 200 and 250 these days mate..although i`ve never actually seen one for sale.....just going on what other people have said....been after it fot 15 years...probably my longest standing want....i`d even consider paying more....maybe....!! Chris
  18. chris.soul@btinternet.com if you want to sell me a copy! Cheers, Chris
  19. A really tough one but its the Tops for me......just edge it.... Chris
  20. I have a copy of G C Cameron "Dont want to play Pajama games" Mowest Mint - for £20. chris.soul@btinternet.com Chris
  21. Yeah Mark, he has gone a bit quiet now.....he has probably remembered that Derby beat Bolton last week and thinks theres no way he can win this one! Chris
  22. Naaahh, Unlike certain "big name" DJs some of us can vary our playlists according to the venue, the crowd and even the temperature.....selecting quality tunes from different eras and soul genres and blending them together.... Maybe one day its a skill you might care to learn......in the meantime "Heres Don Gardner, My baby likes to Boogaloooooooo"!!! Chris
  23. Love the guy to bits....a true legend. Anyone who has ever DJ`d with Sam will know he is a real bugger to get off the decks! One time at Albrighton with 5 mins to go he said " three more?"...and proceded to play three 12" and did`nt cut any of them short. Then if he is following you he is up there fifteen mins before his spot looking at his watch asking "How many more?"..... Dodger once "insulted" me on another list calling me "The son of Sam"......best compliment I`ve ever had!! Chris
  24. Superb Pete...as with all your clips...well done mate! Reminds me of the time we went to see wattstax at a little theatre in Memphis...it was the first time the whole thing was ever shown in a theatre....supposedly a big event....a Saturday night......and we were the only ones there! Chris
