Rule number one when I DJ is that my playbox never leaves my side.....some people have mocked the fact that I have a shoulder strap for 100 count box, but it means I can put it on the floor whilst moving around the club and keep a hold of it, or carry it around on my back never letting it out of my sight. It can be a bit laborious, but it's taken me years to get my playbox together, not to mention the cash I put into it, so I have to have it with me at all times. As much as you want to trust your fellow clubbers, if I lose my tunes somehow, the only one I would want to blame is myself.
  2. I think Mr Mahood has/had a copy at one point.....I'm on the fence with it. Sounds alright, but a tad pedestrian (for my tastes at any rate). Kinda reminds me of Jimmy Dews on Dews with less conviction.
  3. Thanks! https://www.youtube.com/user/DivineChordGospel/videos?flow=grid&view=0 And following on from the gospel show, we head straight into the 2nd hour for 45's of Fury, so please join us for an uptempo session of obscure and heavy hitting original pressing 45's!
  4. I've had a bunch of these and they're pretty easy to remove once you've got the technique.....and it's kinda tough to put it into words. There's four 'connector' points to the 45 hole....2 are large, 2 are small on each side of the adapter. Hold the 45 so that there's 2 points on one side, 2 on the other. I usually go for the right hand side........slide the adapter across and simultaneously push down. They should flip straight out.....and you don't need to apply a lot of force.
  5. I've still got a bunch of quality buy-it-now LP's on the bay, all available with best offer options....no reasonable offer refused, so get at 'em here. Thanks! https://www.ebay.com/sch/mainmenu/m.html?_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

  7. Hey....that's a great find! I had a copy of the 45 years ago, which bizarrely came off of ebay, before collectorsfrenzy & popsike were around. I had to sell my copy when I needed cash, about 6 years ago.........safe to say I've never seen another copy of the 45 til now. And I tried contacting some of the band members who still play in the locale and they had no recollection of a 45. Good luck with the sale!

Any chance he can throw the tracklisting up, mate?
  13. Mike acquired a whole stack of Dore discs when he co-bought the Ray Dobard estate....I don't know how many copies would have surfaced on that load, but guaranteed not many, if any at all (barring Mike's own copy). Another CA dealer had one that recently made it's way to London.....and two copies came out of a Bay Area collection late last year. They were brought to Whittier, and then shipped out elsewhere. I also saw a VG copy float through the bay last year, which I think was listed for the sweet soul flip.
  14. Only just seen this event, mate......I'll be DJ'ing in Manchester on 25th May, so almost certainly gonna book a hotel for the duration. See you there, guv!

  23. I spoke with the guy who owns the 'hammered' copy in California 10 days ago, and he still has it in his collection. He bought a job lot on ebay around 8 years ago, and the John Harris was included....listed amongst a bunch of cheapy to mid range soul 45's. And the lot came from the UK!
  24. There's two in California....one has thrashed labels (from what I've been told), and the other is fairly hammered but plays well enough.
