Absolutely....it's just the deals are getting more and more personal. Word of mouth, rather than just randomly turning up to a spot and negotiating. Towards the end of last year, a buddy of mine had a major score on the west coast....all negotiated directly, so I certainly didn't know about it until the deal was done. All kinds of high end 45's in the collection too, like the Superbs on Dore, Chucky Thurman on Thermoe Blast, Scorpio and His People etc. So yeah, it can be done, but networking like crazy is gonna yield the fruit.

Is this the first clean issue copy to come up for sale since Mr Callier's death? On ebay, at any rate.....

I think it's OK...........I put it on an old mix of mine and then promptly sold it. The backing is pretty tasty, but the vocal performance is just the wrong side of popcorn for me.

Yeah, it's an absolute rip of 'Hold on....' without a doubt, mate. Definitely a case of a gospelized classic, possibly for more secular appeal, or just borrowing a riff for accessibility.

A lot of the drama strings clips sound more like Euro records to me, so you might wanna check those out at the Verygoodplus forum. I think their general knowledge on these kinda samples will point you in the right direction.
