  11. Opinions may differ on best band / song, Can't really comment on either to be honnest, But let me offer this one as best version of a song recorded by different artists, First recorded by Tommy Edwards (I may be wrong), By the look of this clip it was recorded in a army hospital for injured soldiers returning from Vietnam,Its not complete, But Ladies and Gents please take your hats off to the "Four Tops" "Its All In The Game" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBalnTefDiM Grant
  12. As for best compilation album / cd, I will put forward, Deep Beats 60's Northern Soul vol 2, Tracks include:- First Choice -- This is the house The MVP's --- Turning My Heartbeat Al Wilson --- Help Me Jackie Wilson --- I Don't Want To Lose You Tony Lammar --- In The Nick Of Time Maxine Brown --- One In A Million Chuck Jackson --- Good Things Carmen Taylor --- You're Putting Me On Young Holt Unlimited --- California Montage A few other's a bit dubious including Wayne Gibson for example, but for a low range priced cd about 7 quid you cant complain, Grant

Not myself but my wifes first introduction to Northern was the above mentioned Al Wilson track. She also loves to dance to "Out On The Floor",Lesley was and still is a Bon Jovi nutcase but likes a bit of Soul when she is in the mood to dance, Just goes back to the oldies v newies, threads really,Many people will try to slag these sounds off as commercial. And indeed yes they are to some of us,but to many newer people getting into Northern Soul,These are the tunes that get them hooked! Just a personal thought not in any way trying to reopen that old thread for god sake
