A little bit hurt - Julian Covay , Breakout - Mitch Ryder .Remember the amount of people sat on the floor between the main room and M's .Used to enjoy the early sessions in there with Richard unleashing his new stuff , plus new releases etc .Heard a Bowie 12" , Donna Summer " I feel love " Leo Sayer " Thunder in my heart " amongst Garnet Mimms etc .Heard Judy Street for the first time in there as well early doors [ Tabs will confirm ] .Best ,Eddie
  2. Compared to what - Mr floods party , this was massive .Remember dancing to Eddie Holman " This could be a night " in Mr M's when Dave McCadden said " Sit down Eddie , this is 70's !! " It was real scene within a scene there , not sure whether I really liked it , but it certainly had it's fans , and a full on atmosphere .Best ,Eddie

    Dropped my copy of Clydie King - My love grows deeper / Missin' my baby at Tescos while photocopying the label , it landed in on it's side and cracked in half !! Still gutted 4 years later Best,Eddie

    Has anyone mentioned Milton Wright -I belong to you , which still sounds brilliant IMO .Esther Phillips " What a difference a day makes " , George Benson " Supership " and " On Broadway " were massive new releases , though probably played at the Mecca first , Epic or Mel Bratt could confirm ? Has anyone mentioned Williams and Watson " Too late " ? Although probably played at The Torch etc , this was truly massive when played by Martyn Ellis just as dawn was breaking , with the sun streaming through the windows [ ah memories !! ] Best ,Eddie

    The first night I went to Wigan [ Jan. 1975 ] two of the biggest records were " Cochise " Paul Humphrey and Ace Cannon " Sea cruise " , both instrumentals and ideal for that incredible " Soul-clapping" .Best,Eddie

  16. Rich , don't think the Barbara / browns - Gonna start a war is valid , as it got released on both Japanese and UK Chess , on the album " Southern Soul stock vol 1 " .Released firstly by the Japs in the mid 80's and then briefly on UK Chess via Charly a few years later .Best ,Eddie
