  1. Thanks Guys. The artists were Lloyd Price and Malcolm Hayes. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to jog my memory. Gareth, I'll check out the Will-O-Bees version. Best, Dave
  2. Hi Boba. The first one is late 60's early 70's mid tempo and the second one is a 60's ballad. Cheers, Dave
  3. Hi folks. I need your help in identifying the singers of the following songs : The first song is titled "luv luv luv " and goes 'I thought I was losing you girl, from the very beginning, but like love in every story book, we're gonna have a happy ending. The second one is called "its not easy " and it's a beat ballad. It goes : Hey girl what can I do with you, when you take this old hart and break it in two, I'm an easy going man who'll take all that he can, Thanks in advance for putting me out of my misery? Dave
  4. Hi Loren. Does this affect how the record plays? Dave
  5. I never realised that Mark - mines a Gooda as well. Dave
  6. I know Simon - the text editor has been playing up!! Dave
  7. Duplicate post..
  8. Cheers for the replies lads. I've got the 'Joker' boot of this but would love to hear the instrumental as vocal does get annoying after a while. Did the instrumental come out on any dodgy formats? Regarding the penniman (?) release I doubt it's Marsha Gee on the picture cover as actual singer was uncredited?? Probably one of the best backing tracks laid down IMHO. Best wishes, Dave
  9. Does anyone know if the instrumental of this was ever released? Thanks in advance, Dave
  10. Hi Dave. Are you sure you sent to the right address? A few years ago I sold a 45 to a bloke in Berlin. I sent it to the address he gave me and was surprised to hear, after 7 days, that it has not arrived. Acting on a hunch I decided to use Google maps to check out where the guy lived. Turned out the address did not exist. He had given me an address in North Berlin and a postcode in South Berlin. In the end it turned out that the postcode was correct and German post finally tracked him down and delivered the record 3 weeks after I had posted it. Good luck with the outcome. Dave

That's all part of the game Wilxy. I think a big part of the fun is in chasing these records anyway. Overall I bag more than I lose. Happy hunting, Dave

There is no better feeling than getting an original copy of a record you first came across on cd or one of those brilliant Kent lps and hearing it in all its original (mono) glory. Happy days, Dave
  13. I sold a 45 to a guy in California a few years ago via an e-bay auction. When I went to package said record I couldn't find the b*****d!! To cut a long story short I gave him the address of the record dealer/shop I originally bought it from as they had a copy left. Turns out the shop was a 10 minute drive from his house. So a happy ending for everyone involved - and he got the record for 1/2 what he 'won' it for on E-bay. best, Dave
  14. Interesting question. I bought my first copy of IGTN in 1991 on the yellow 'Repite' label - superb sound. Few years later got the Spooky & Sue boot - atrocious sound (though my stylus had fallen off!) Few years ago got the UK All Platinum issue - muffled sound. Best, Dave
  15. Very true Paul. My All platinum copy of Chuck Jackson's "I've got the need" has none of the dynamics of the Repite reissue. Best, Dave
  16. Incredible record mate -it took my breath away the first time I heard it! Dave
  17. Hi Russ. For me it's got to be "what's with this loneliness". The Junior McCants/Garland Green one comes a very close second. Good thread, Dave
  18. 'Strange' is an understatement Bob-but that's why I love it. Then again, compared to the flip 'twinkle little star' is completely sane. Take care, Dave
  19. Two brilliant sides. The legit gold reissue has a 'nashville' stamp in the deadwax. Expect to pay about £60. Dave
  20. That's worse than the original problem. In the eighties a mate of mine had a copy of Bob Relf's 'blowing my mind to pieces 'that jumped just near the end.He put it on a tape for me and I listened to it for umpteen years. Now whenever I hear a normal copy it doesn't make sense? Take care, Dave
  21. Thanks for clearing that up Pete. After reading your post it makes sense that you could easily have had a 'bad run' from the pressing plant that no-one would necessarily be aware of. best, Dave
  22. I have had the styrene monarch boot a few times over the years and they all jumped during the intro before he starts singing. I always thought that whoever made the boots (SS? ) used a warped original copy . Best, Dave
  23. Loads of them, but here's a few to get the ball rolling: Bobby Sheen - Doctor Love Apollas - Mr Creator Alice Clark - You hit me (right where it hurt me) Bobby Sheen - Something new to do Dave
  24. Cheers Nev -first class instrumental! Dave
  25. Hi Pete. Is this the same as Honey and the bees? Cheers, Dave
