Don't like either side of New Wanderers, sorry. I like This Man In Love though.
  4. I quite like that, except can never stop thinking of Hermans Hermits version when I hear it
  5. First night I ever went to Wigan, Joey Dee and Little Joe Cook where the biggest records in the country, unforgettable
  6. Who knows how long it'll take, I don't have people handing me records on a plate every day, I have to go and find them.
  7. Looks like I have two tapes of Major Lance, one is definitely marked November 82, the other says nothing, it's the other one I'm listening to at the moment

Was a big reactivation at Wigan, even got reissued
  9. Just found a live tape of Major Lance 'somewhere', might be Hinckley again, anyone know where he played in 82/83 era, maybe he'll mention the venue...clapping is so loud on the tape
  10. Not a record - this is a download THE RIC TIC REVUE LIVE AT HINCKLEY — 21st JAN 1983 This is the legendary Ric Tic Review live at Hinckley Leisure Centre, January 21st 1983. The revue featured legendary artists Al Kent, Pat Lewis, Lou Ragland, J.J. Barnes and an epic set from Edwin Starr. This tape captures the night, the incredible atmosphere and the brilliant performances in superb quality. Edwin Starr absolutely knocks it out of the ballpark, possibly his greatest ever live show, and that’s saying something. 90 minutes. Listen to the sample on the website (this is a download only, if anyone wants it on double cd it'll be more) Link below https://www.rare-soul.com/wordpress/shop/the-ric-tic-revue-live-at-hinckley-21st-jan-1983-3/

  13. I'm not saying anything, the last time I mentioned the titles of records which I thought were in quantity I was threatened with court action by the dealer(s) in question.
  14. It was out of necessity because there would be no room if people didn't dance side to side facing the stage, the only people going in the opposite direction would be at the edges of the dancefloor
  15. It predates the Casino Mark, it was reissued in 68 or 69 because it was so popular and never deleted, it was a revival in early 1978 and that's when the Congress pressings were done.
  16. There will be more - one day
  17. I have another 4 photos I think of the stage during the dancing competition.
  18. Deal. But you wouldn't pay £900 though - nobody (else) would!
  19. The shot from behind, that's showing about 3/4 of the dancefloor, after the floor ends at the back there was like 20 feet or so of carpet and then the back bar where the records were sold, directly underneath where the guy took the photo from
  20. Note - no clown outfits!

I've got all those and love them all. With Bari Track I was using that as an example that it's as good as any Northern Soul vocal record. Not that it was the only instrumental worth having.
  22. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
    Silly argument
  23. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
Does it say "this is the only instrumental that I like"?
  24. Depends how many there were...Three of the six you mention, there were a lot of them
