Basically Etta's 'official' portrait photographer saw a clip of her that I'd put on YouTube and apparently Etta didn't even know it existed (neither did anyone else by the looks of some of the comments) and she was so blown away by it that she asked if I would do her a dvd of it, so I did, forgot about it, then this signed photo arrived today. No sign of the $1000 I asked for Here's the clip, it's fantastic.

Yes you get a signed photo of Etta James, how do you want it made out to? Damn, hang on, my silver pens just run out....

And she's turned into a black woman since I last saw her!

Happy Cats was played for a maximum of 3 weeks...never really big. When I did the Grapevine article for Record Collector I asked John Anderson why the put certain records out and the answer was simply that they had the rights to them...like why put out Stanley Woodruff 2 years after it was big, that sort of thing, and why waste plastic on the likes of the Happy Cats? Though the other side was quite good "Destroy that boy"

Don't make a lot of sense Mel, I doubt if there's such a thing as a Karen acetate, it would be an Atlantic one or whatever studio it was cut at - I MAY BE WRONG - John M willknow

Yes it's what we used to call an Emidisc - pick any two titles and someone will cut them onto disc for you. Used to cost £5 at the time.

Australian is by far the easiest way to pick it up, you did well to get £55!

Presume you're talking about Oh What A Feeling? I reviewed that in Beatin Rhythm something like 14 years ago and I think it was totally unknown so I valued it at £20. £80 now I reckon Mace. Tops.

Is it possible to save those auction player samples then Blake, if so, how do you do it??? There was a French language version of Don't Pity me on there recently and I tried everything but couldn't work out how to save it. As for this record, Johnny Praye - first time I've heard it - 5 out of 10

I once saw Biddu's original acetate for Marble & Iron come up for sale, thought it would be quite exciting, turns out it was his songwriter demo and was almost acoustic!

If anyone gets this, they must be as old or older than me!
