Rocket Northern Allnighter Report, Bbc Liquid News
According to my 'rare soul dvd list' (available from me, free) it's Arts file - early 90's overview from the bbc, actually a fairly intelligent look at the scene

Rocket Northern Allnighter Report, Bbc Liquid News
I know, I was just 'acting' nearly all these reports are the same, they are clueless - I've got a couple that are accurate, one from the BBC circa 1990, I'll dig it out

Rocket Northern Allnighter Report, Bbc Liquid News
(Give this 10 minutes to be processed) Ian Levine obviously persuaded the BBC cameras to get down to the inaugral Rocket allnighter back in - gosh when was it, 2000? 2001? Anyway, here's the usual patronising look at Northern Soul plus some dancers from the Rocket and a few archive clips.

"the Champion" Manchester Ritz Clip (clocking Off, Bbc)
It will be in a minute Ken, when it goes up to their site it takes them 10 minutes to get it ready for viewing, I forgot about that, sorry

Unknown Northern Soul Dancer From 1988
Clip from Jameson's People, BBC 1. Phil Dick was in this, and Ady C. Don't know who this chap is - I bet a lot of you do - he's pretty good though.

"the Champion" Manchester Ritz Clip (clocking Off, Bbc)
This is from an early 2000's BBC drama series set in Manchester called Clocking Off. In this clip, two of the shows main characters go to The Ritz in Manchester (to relive their youth by the looks of it). It is actually filmed at the Ritz, and most of those extras are 'real' Northern soulies. The music, of course, is the brilliant "Champion" by Willie Mitchell

Frank Popp - Hip Teens- Whats The Story?
At exactly 53 seconds into the track (on the video), the first sample of the Detroit Land Apples comes in. You must surely be able to hear it.

Two Very Rare Ska/reggae 45's Just Up On Ebay
For the conny-sewers amongst you. Looking at £150+ for each of these really. There are sound clips on both items if you fancy a listen. I realise there are only a couple of people on here hardcore enough to be interested in items like this at that sort of price but you never know. The Monty Morris 45 makes the Glenn Miller look easy to find! https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=110024989685 https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=110024992210

60's Mafia
The term Mafia also came into common parlance in the 30's. Actually, this term originated in the 1870's, from a Sicilian word denoting courage or bravura. So you see, Keb or any of his mates could not have invented the word as they were not born til the late 50's and early 60's
