Records I've Always Wanted To Hear
I've got that Grand Prix thing, I'll have to convert it from cassette though. The Tobi Bowe record used to be £3 and is horrible compared to Mamie Lee

Has A Kid Ever Made A Decent Soul Record?
I know this will sound totally bizarre but I heard Stevie Wonder's "Castles in the sand" for the first time EVER about 3 weeks ago, I've even had the record but never played it because for some reason I thought it was a mawkish ballad, I've definitely got it mixed up with something else, but my goodness, what a brilliant brilliant track...

Gender Difference
Another one that the girls really loved was The Poppies - There's A Pain In My Heart. Oh, and Send Him Back. Funnily enough, I loved both of those and Dena Barnes

Skinhead Moonstomp - Original Skinheads Early 1970
Really pleased you all like this one, I love seeing original footage of the great youth cults but there seems to be so little of it, and the clips they use on the tv are the same ones over and over again.

Has A Kid Ever Made A Decent Soul Record?
I was thinking of a couple of fabulous records featuring (what sound like) kid lead singers: The Admirations - heaven is in your arms (and the one on peaches) Pee Wee, Shuck & Huey - Besides myself (not such a well known record but brilliant Jackson 5 impersonation...well sort of jackson 5)

Joanie Sommers Don't Pity Me Video
No it's not Marc, that's The Beat and although it features those you mention, it doesn't feature this clip which is from Hullabaloo. I think there are only 6 volumes of the Bear Family dvd's. Stuart Tyler would know as he's been promising to lend me them now for nearly 18 months. They are the master tape versions of the ones we all had on vhs (cost £100!) back in 1996.

Has A Kid Ever Made A Decent Soul Record?
He'd have had a job, he was lead singer with The Reflections (I think)

Skinhead Moonstomp - Original Skinheads Early 1970
This is a Soul Source exclusive, from Horace Ove's film "Reggae", shot in 1970, shown once on the BBC in 1972 and then reported missing in action. It's never been reshown or released on video or dvd. I'll put some clips of Desmond Dekker and The Maytals up later, but this is my favourite bit of the film, shot at some youth club by the looks of it. Older viewers may especially enjoy this clip.

Chiffons - Nobody Knows Whats Goin On - Colour Footage
Hang on 10 minutes for the next one Roger, I'm pretty confident that nobody will have got this, and if they ever saw it it was the one time it was shown on tv circa 1972. Never repeated, never released officially.

The Superbs - Baby All The Time - Fantastic Video Clip
The track I was on about where she hits this glass-shattering note at the end is called Sad Sad Day, so if anyone has it and could post it up I would be really grateful, I sold mine ages ago and I didn't record it.

Chiffons - Nobody Knows Whats Goin On - Colour Footage
Great song this...Nobody Knows Whats Goin' On In My Mind But Me - a great girl group track and one of the last hits for The Chiffons, this one is quite unusual as it's in full colour. The source is unknown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spuLPtQARI0

The Superbs - Baby All The Time - Fantastic Video Clip
I had one by them, it might be the b side of this one, but for the life of me I can't remember the title...anyway it was a ballady thing, but at the end she hit the highest note anyone's sung since Yma Sumac, I couldn't believe it. Someone must know the track, it's right at the very end of the song. p.s. don't think I know 'the wind is blowing'

The Superbs - Baby All The Time - Fantastic Video Clip
Not northern but what a great song this is and I bet this group only ever made a handful of TV appearances, hope you enjoy this one. I'll try and do a load of these over the weekend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG616CK8_Tw

Joanie Sommers Don't Pity Me Video
It's from Hullaballoo. I've got 3 dvd's from this show, this is where all the clips in circulation came from, I was still in Hastings when I did the first compilation so you can tell how long ago it was (I've been here 4 years 3 months). Had to laugh, I did a 90 minute video (this was before dvd recorders) called Soul A Go Go using all the best clips from this series and did a nice cover for it, sold a few on my list, went to Stoke and someone had copied it, including the cover, and was flogging it for twice as much as I was selling it for I think the dvd's are still available from the USA

Joanie Sommers Don't Pity Me Video
Martyn I've seen it a hundred times, she is singing it live, trust me. It's slightly out of sync on youtube anyway. Anyway if you're familiar with the song you'll notice little adlibs and different pronunciations of certain words. Barbara McNair sings You're Gonna Love My Baby live on the same program and you can't see her mike either but she's 100% singing live
