I don't think anyone was trying to con anyone else, the seller obviously realised he'd got an acetate - which it is Dave, bootleg or not - and thought it was for real. But as far back as 72, people could pay their money and choose two tracks from a list of rare tracks. I like it when some of these real old ones turn up because the records on them are so common now but must have tough at the time - for instance, I once found one with Bill Blacks Combo - MY girl josephine b/w The Capitols - Tired of running!

Chris it's not great and it's common, I had two and couldn't get more than £30 for them.

Nobody would listen to the Antellects if it wasn't rare. No redeeming features whatsoever.

Yes mate, never quite liked that side so much but it was actually that side that was indemand a couple of years back

Sorry, only just seen this - yes, still got it I sold one for £400 but that was 18 months ago...never understood the attraction of that version to be honest, The Sheppards version is so smooth and sophisticated

I think it's a bit difficult to gauge if you are only basing it on a 30 second sample but I am not going to put myself in a position where I get bollocked all over town for putting the whole thing up, so apologies for that. It's a great northern dancer for sure, but to my ears it's no better than something like Judy Street. Reminds me a bit of parts of I Worship You Baby.

Not much compensation but Eddie does Love You Baby on Levine's SWONS video - it's not great. I've also got him doing it live onstage at Yarmouth. Not a pretty site.

Yeah me too - actually I like most of The Embers records but Watch Out Girl used to sound magic at Wigan, great memories.

That distributor in Bexhill was stocking those mate, they were about 19.99 each I think.

There's a volume 3 as well. Plus 2 volumes that Goldsoul put out, mainly the same footage as the first ones but they got rif of the time codes and remasterd them and added some more tracks. Then there's one I did 3 years back called Soul A GoGo which was all the soul stuff from Hullaballoo and was the source for some of the Legends dvd's, and I also did a 50+ track one taken from The Beat series, featuring just the performances of Northern interest. There's more. But dvd's can't be advertised on site.

Bit hard to say really, because of the labels I wouldn't have thought more than £20 but no doubt you'll have someone else saying it's worth triple that!

First time I saw these was about 5 years ago, Chris Johnson found them in Florida, think he sent me about 5 copies (I sold them for a tenner each)
