  1. Re The Ringleaders - originally this was only played for about 4 weeks before being 'pressed' - except it wasn't pressed at all, every copy sold was an original. I bought it from Pep's shop, £3, along with John Bowie which was also an original. I think it was Soul Bowl who found them. So there were a few hundred of each, and even now they occasionally get offered as pressings.
  2. I ownder if I'm thinking of another label then? I was sure it was this. The label name was small and in script at the top, it definitely didn't have a design like that one though. The record I usually get this mixed up with is The Empires but I've never had that.
  3. The Ascots he has on there looks absolutely nothing like the one I used to have, mine was either a pale blue or pale pink label!!!
  4. I can...didn't you ask me about this, I thought I replied...
  5. Well as I paid 10.50 for it, yes you can have it for £50 if you want it seeing you're a cheeky bugger, anyone else will have to pay £75. Don't say I never stick to my promises
  6. I think I did, it was on Jubilee if I remember...
  7. Follow up - looks like it's not for sale anymore - apparently it was 10 years old!!! From CNN. com MIAMI, Florida (AP) -- The people at eBay were no believers in this cheesy miracle: half of a 10-year-old grilled cheese sandwich whose owner claimed it bore the image of the Virgin Mary. Diana Duyser put the sandwich up for sale last week, drawing bids as high as $22,000 before eBay pulled the item Sunday night. The page was viewed nearly 100,000 times before being taken down. An e-mail Duyser received from eBay said the sandwich broke its policy, which "does not allow listings that are intended as jokes." But, Duyser, a jewelry designer who has bought and sold items on eBay for two years, insisted this was not a laughing matter. "How could eBay do this to me?" Duyser said Monday, hours before the online auction was supposed to have ended. EBay spokesman Hani Durzy said he did not have enough information to comment specifically on the case. Duyser thought eBay would be the best place to show off the sandwich, made on plain white bread with American cheese. It was cooked with no oil or butter. Duyser, 52, said she took a bite after making it 10 years ago and saw a face staring back at her from the bread. She put the sandwich in a clear plastic box with cotton balls and kept it on her night stand. At first, she was scared by the image, "but now that I realize how unique it is, I wanted to share it with the world," Duyser said. The sandwich, she added, has never sprouted a spore of mold.
  8. I just got myself a copy of Some Day The Sun Will Shine on what I thought was going to be an acetate - but it's actually cut onto vinyl! Thick, old style vinyl. I never thought this was possible but it obviously is...not accusing anyone of anything but if I can get it done, surely someone with money and resources could get it done with proper labels etc..
  9. Holy cheese on toast yes I know this should be elsewhere but it is worth a look
  10. The Simpsons refers to this occasionally, Homer after a typical feast pats his stomach and says "I can't believe I at the whole thing"...I think it's in the school reunion episode
  11. Typically, never played it...bloody rare record though, even the pressing is rare, had 2 copies in 20 years!
  12. Congrats on the Formations Kev, I got a near mint UK Dr Love issue at the weekend, not sure why but couldn't resist it...not a big fan of Hi Ho Silver Lining because the police banned The Liquidator from being the track Wolves run out to saying it could incite violence (????) and they replaced it with Jeff Beck...and it's i-o-wul-ver-amptun..
  13. I could but I'd have to charge
  14. Is Communicators meant to be spelt like it is on the label?
  15. Not the greatest record ever made but not only did it only get 2 bids, it only got 5 views in the entire time it was on there. I won it at $10.50

An unofficial copy of a musical recording, or an original but illegal recording. Sometimes referred to as pirate Illicit. Originally from Prohibition era - in. re. illegal alcoholic liquor. An item that is illegally sold or traded, such as video tapes, T-Shirts, etc. Whiskey illegally distilled from a corn mash The part of a boot above the instep
  17. I've only bought 2 of them. I didn't even know 75% of them. Weird 70's and 80's things mainly. I guess they know their market, it's obviously not the Northern scene.
  18. Thanks Ali - just not seen it anywwhere
  19. I heard Gerri hall was coming out on Grepvine 45, anyone know if it did?

    Novelty acts
  21. You sure it was that much mate? 300? Maybe 150 was my cut This is a bit misty to be honest but there's no way in the world I would have listed that for 300, it must have been an offer???
  22. Funny, whenever I think of the John Andrews record for some reason it reminds me of Steve Aldo - You're absolutely right. Probably because they are on the same label. Both by Ashford & Simpson I think, and coming out at the same time, Brothers Grimm - don't know if Looky Looky was writen by them but A Man Needs Love certainly was. Must have sent a load of songs over at the same time.
  23. Yeah I'd keep it if I were you - so hard to replace. Not got any reggae to sell me?
