I've found The Empires on 11 different labels from 1954 to 63, almost certain to be different groups.

What Do People Think About Hit & Runners
You know, people who never post anything but appear once to post a record list then disappear...I've only been on here a week and I've made 176 posts, admittedly most of them are rubbish but at least I've tried to join in. Shame cos it's a great forum, it would be nice if more people were posting IMO.

Surely 'Heartaches' was later than 58????- What Was The Earliest Soul Record
Billy, The Time is the a side of the above record! What I like about it is the repetitive riff that runs all the way through.- What Was The Earliest Soul Record
No mate it's on black Chess and also on that weird orangey one - if it was 58 it would be blue/silver I think- What Was The Earliest Soul Record
No it wasn't, how did you come to that conclusion? It's from 65 or 66!- What Was The Earliest Soul Record
Damn I answered this in the previous topic but I might as well post it again, please try and hear it, it's great A track I mentioned last week - Baby washington "You could never be mine" (Neptune) this is from 1958 and is superb, I've been plugging it for about 5 years and it would go down great at a venue except it has a messy jazz break right in the middle.- Soul Records Ahead Of Their Time
A track I mentioned last week - Baby washington "You could never be mine" (Neptune) this is from 1958 and is superb, I've been plugging it for about 5 years and it would go down great at a venue except it has a messy jazz break right in the middle.- Del Larks
Works both ways though - Betty Lloyd for instance - at one point down to as low as 50 quid, now back up to 200. Also what about that box of Arthur Freeman (Jumbo) that turned up 3 months ago, the bloke put the first two on Buy It Now for $20 because he had no idea what it was!- Determination
It's a ska tune mate, I think it might be Shenley Duffus but to be honest I can't remember, I did it in paintshop, they have a very basic animation plug in. I had over 200 red and white Islands before I started selling them off- Determination
I'll be what you want (and then it sounds like) birds on a string!!!! Obviously not but thats what it sounds like..- Determination

That first line has got to be wrong, I'd guess the last word of the first line is 'stone' or 'storm' but I haven't got the record here unfortunately.- Determination
I thought it was "I'll work unending hours" ???- Prices Please

Different artist mate, thats the UK based Geno Washington on all of those tracks- Is This A Boot?
