Rarest Us Issues
That's right - I traded it for £1000 worth of swaps. Still don't know of another one.

Not Hi-Jacking Pete's "how Much"
Why would it upset me, I know he had fantastic records - it's just that some of his tailor made records such as the one I highlighted weren't very good!

Northern Soul 70's Fashion
Yes the used to make standard denim ones and white ones. Sadly the white ones got adopted by the Bay City Rollers and their fans

Northern Soul 70's Fashion
Skinners are ultra-collectable and cost a fortune if you can find an original pair.

Northern Soul 70's Fashion
Just a word about Spencers Bags and Polyveldts. Spencers weren't worn til late 78 and onwards and most of the people who wore them were considered divs. Polyveldts weren't worn until 1979, until then everyone wore Solatios, Brogues or Loafers. The polyveldts started with the girls as they weren't very good for blokes to dance in due to them not having leather soles.

Soulboy - The Movie. You've Seen It So . .
I was on IMDB looking at a film called Cherry Tree Lane, this was a British film directed by the guy who did London To Brighton, anyway what I found interesting was that it was released to cinemas in the first week of September, and released on DVD in the last week of September! Talk about a quick turnaround. So they obviously had no hopes of it doing anything more than a weekp or two at the most on it's cinema run. And this made me think even more when someone said that the DVD release for Soulboy wasn't until next year, is that correct?

Do Soul People Like Live Bands ?
We discussed this before and a lot of the younger members couldn't understand when we said that when live acts came on at Wigan, we usually went straight into Mr. M's and missed the act completely. Ther reason for that wasn't because you didn't like the artist, it was to keep 'up'!

Found In The Basement - New Podcast
Yeah I wondered about that Otis Gayle, despite it being reggae it's still pretty soulful and danceable I reckon.

Found In The Basement - New Podcast
Cheers - sometimes it's nice to do a bit of a mix of stuff rather than out and out Northern all the time. Might do another of these this week.

What Would You Do In This Position?
No, not on UK.
-
What Would You Do In This Position?
No it is rare, trust me - 2 years looking and not seen a single copy, none gone through ebay, makes me wonder if it's demo only.
-
What Would You Do In This Position?
I don't know about that, it took a lot of hard work and research to find out what it actually was. The funny thing is, it's included in hundreds of discographies on the net.

Danny Woods - You Had Me Fooled
Yeah you're right, only two I've ever had were like vg minus, played well but looked battered. Don't think I got more than 200 for either though.
-
What Would You Do In This Position?
OK mate I'll keep that in mind
-
What Would You Do In This Position?
No, that's exactly right, what I meant was, should I confide in a couple of people, or just say nothing - you know what this scene is like for Chinese whispers, you tell one person and in a months time, people are asking you the original question

Found In The Basement - New Podcast
FOUND IN THE BASEMENT ***** I always loved that title, it makes you think of finding a stash of great records which had just been dumped in some basement and laid undiscovered for 40 years. This compilation is meant to reflect that random box of goodies - some totally unknown tunes, some known but forgotten, and some just plain good 60's records. There's a bit of popcorn, some soul, lots of girls and a handful of rare UK only releases. ***** https://podcastmachine.com/podcasts/4425/episodes/31385 Bella & Me - Whatever Happened To The 7 Day Week / Helen Shapiro - Tell Me What He Said (Just A Brilliant Pop Record) / The Pixies Three - Something Beautiful (Previously Unreleased Version Of Margaret Mandolph)) / Wynder K Frog - I'm A Man (Supposedly Recorded Live At Bridget Bardot's Birthday Party In 1967!) / Millie Foster - Love Wheel (Storming R & B) / Oscar - Club Of Lights (Paul Nicholas Under An Early Alias For Reaction Records) / Julie & The Desires - Kiss And Tell / Eddie Holman - A Free Country / Golden Apples Of The Sun - The Monkey Time / Jan Bradley - Please Mr. Dj / Clay Fulton - One Hundred Years (Previously Unreleased Popcorn Dancer) / Yvonne Barrett - Send Her Away (Aussie Version Of Jackie Trent Pye Single) Peter & The Infinits - She's Laughing At You / Bluesology - Come Back Baby (Nice Early 45 For Fontana With Elton John On Vocals) / Dana Gillespie - Pay You Back With Interest (Knocks Spots Of The Hollies Original Version) / Henrietta & Group - I Love Him (Teen Girl Angst!) / Hilton James - I Made An Angel Cry (Just Discovered This Alternative Version Of The Bruce Scott Track) / Peggy March - Losing My Touch (Her Best) / Joanie Sommers - I'd Be So Good For You / Leonard Whiting - That's What Mamma Say (Very Creditable Version Of Walter Jackson Considering He Was Only A Kid When He Recorded It) / Denise Germaine - Little Lost Lover / Ginny Satin - Hey Lover (Some Northern Potential Here) / Gale Garnet - You've Been Talking About Me Baby / Little Anthony & The Imperials - It's Not The Same (Brilliant, As Always) / Garnet Mimms - A Quiet Place / Darlene Paul - All Cried Out / Otis Gayle - I'll Be Around (Not Really In Keeping With The Rest Of The Tracks But Thought You Might Like To Hear This Excellent Soulful Reggae Version Of The Spinners Classic)

What Would You Do In This Position?
The problem I've got is that I know of a record, which seemingly only two other people have got, and they've both got it covered up. The problem is, I can't find one, despite having the advantage of knowing what it is. Would you tell someone and see if they can find it, or just keep plugging away until you eventually find one? It's a major label release too, but I've been looking for 2 years and still not seen one listed anywhere. I've only told one person (in the States) what it is and I'd appreciate it if he didn't join in the thread
