  1. THE OVERTONES - WHAT WOULD I DO / THE GLEAM IN YOUR EYE - HIP CITY. Books at £1000 but on Popsike only around $600. This one VG only with ring wear but plays EX.
  2. Dave, may need to pick your brains if they are available - I have a few things like this I need pricing, ok if I send you a PM?
  3. F*cks that got to do with me asking for a price on Melvin Moore?
  4. It's ok, I knew he'd say something like that anyway, he always does!
  5. Thanks Ted, you know it's funny, when I asked Mick earlier he said "150 quid"
  6. Anyone know how much I should ask for MELVIN MOORE - ALL OF A SUDDEN / TENNESSEE - SKY HERO. This is a real one, in mint minus condition, I mean a real beauty. Books very high, not expecting 800 quid but what is a realistic price I should ask?
  7. Point number three: I've been to f*cking manchester and back before 1pm today, I've got over 50 records to post out and I'm starving. Too much time??
  8. Just the one - I've pm'd him, waiting for him to reply. Shame, I'd have liked that Johnny Nash on UK MGM. Except I'd have burnt in hell if I'd kept it.
  9. I know! And look - here's the proof...
  10. Listen to this, it's unbelievable. I got 3 records in the post today, two of them no problem, the third one looked a bit strange then I realised why: it did not have my name and address on, in fact it was totally unrelated to me in every way apart from that the address of the person was in Wolverhampton about 5 miles from here, so it's not even supposed to go to our sorting office in Wombourne. Weird concidence number one: the person who it was actually addressed to, I've known on the Northern scene for 30 years! Weird coincidence number two: the road it was sent from, in Hastings, 200 miles away, is the road that I used to live in in Hastings! So not only out of all the 200,000 people who live in Wolverhampton and surrounding areas, do I get post meant for someone I actually know, but it's posted from 100 yards away from where I used to live. Strewth!
  11. Dave, Larry Mac is after that Dobby Dobson, I saw him in Oldies on friday and he asked if I knew it, then I remembered you had it
  12. No, never. Think there's an east Coast and a West Coast press though.
  13. The more I think about this question, it throws up even more questions. Like, I've got a pressing of Al Foster band about to end, someone's bid £25 on it for some reason, surely they could get one cut for 15 quid and put their own nice labels on it? And would people rather have an import boot/pressing than say a legit Kent Uk release of the same thing? I just don't know how people think anymore!
  14. I'm sure the members of the public passing by the cinema were taking notes about the clothes the dancers were wearing so's when they got home they could come on a forum and say bloody hell, they weren't even making those trousers in 1973.
  15. Still the same answer really, I stuck a load on here a few weeks back and just called them Boots, Pressings and Reissues.
  16. Two years later.... https://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-ILLEGAL-RELEASE-Otis-Redding-45-R-P-M-record-/270631735331?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item3f02e89023
  17. Because if you put bootleg Ebay will have the option to cancel the listing. Bootleg / pressing / second issue / reissue - it's all the same to me. So I just put second issue. Most of these were pressed between 1973 and 1978 and I'm not prepared to go back and try and find the manufacturers of them to ask if they were licensed legitimately or not. Who cares if it's legitimate or not, apart from the usual Doctor Dorights on Soul Source?
  18. God that Dena Barnes is breathtakingly brilliant, just think if it hadn't had If You Ever Walk Out Of My Life on the other side, it would have been absolutely massive. DJ's - play this side!
  19. Maybe not, but I still think it's great, watch when the music comes on some 'normals' put their bags down on the pavement and join in the dancing, good for them!
  20. I would, but a lot of the time there just isn't room to do that after you've listed artist, title and label.
  21. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
No you simply run out of momentum, a spin only last two or three rotations usually, unless you push yourself along which is cheating! If you want to stop dead it's just a case of planting both sets of toes.
  22. Enjoyed that, some good dancers there
  23. The last thing I'd want to do after being musically tortured is hang around for an hour trying to meet the artist. In fact I'd never want to meet any artist, why would I want to do that?
  24. FORGOTTEN FLOORSHAKERS * * * * * * * * * * No need for me to explain that title really - I was just thinking "when did I last hear that" and thought I'd compile a few of those records that don't seem to get played anymore. * * * * * https://podcastmachine.com/podcasts/4425/episodes/29035 The Carmel Strings - I Hear A Symphony (World Pacific)/ Phyllis Brown - Oh Baby (Rainbo) / The Drifters - You've Got To Pay Your Dues (Atlantic) / Wayne Cochran - I'm In Trouble (Mercury) / The Belles - Let Me Do It (Soul Fox Boot) / Nooney Rickett - Tomorrow Is Another Day (It) / The Tiffanies - It's Got To Be A Great Song (Kr) / The Sensations - Demanding Man (Way Out) / Jesse Davis - Gonna Hang On In There Girl (Era) / The Demures - Raining Teardrops (Brunswick) / Dena Barnes - Who Am I (Inferno) / The Fabulous Jades - Come On And Live (Rika) / Len Barry - You Baby (Decca) / Fred Smith Orchestra - The Same Old Thing (Mirwood) / The Detroit Sound - Jumpin' At The Gogo (Wyncote) / The Three Degrees - Contact (Warner Bros) / The Bell Boys - I Don't Want To Lose You (Jamar) / Stewart Ames - King For A Day (J & S) / The Friendly People - I Ain't Got Nothin' But The Blues (Vmp) / Reggie Garner - Hot Line (Capitol) / The Baja Marimba Band - Along Comes Mary (A & M) / Johnny Vanelli - Seven Days Of Loving You (Pre-Vue) / Minnie Jones - Shadow Of A Memory (Sugar) / Matt Lucas - Baby You Better Go Go (Karen) / The Chiffons - Keep The Boy Happy (Laurie) / Fluffy Falana - My Little Cottage (Alpha) / Freddie Butler - Save Your Love For Me Baby (Wheelsville) / William Powell - Heartache Souvenirs (Power House) / John & The Weirdest - Can't Get Over These Memories (Tie) / Little Anthony & The Imperials - Call Me The Joker (Veep) / The Knickerbockers - Wishful Thinking (Challenge).
