  1. You always ask for records after I just sold them - had one on UK Pama for months, sold it a couple of weeks back for £20!
  2. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
It sure is! They also did a version of Get Out I think
  3. I had one on my list on Monday - an AGP one I mean - looked as rough as a bears arse but played great
  4. Yes I've got that cd, it's pretty good actually, at no time did it ever consider itself anything but a pop label
  5. Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Emanuel Laskey, Ray Pollard, Doris Troy. They all have one thing in common. Yep, they're all dead. Except if you switch on the tv and turn to VH1, you're inevitably going to see some footage of Jimi, Kurt and John at some time during the day. You are NEVER going to see Emanuel, Ray and Doris. This alone quantifies Floorfillers as the greatest musical tribute to Soul music ever made. It doesn't matter if the music isn't always to everyone's taste, this is a time capsule and a testament to these fantastic artists, many of who were never fully appreciated in their lifetimes. If anyone can watch this film and not be moved by at least some elements of it then I don't think you truly realise what this scene and this music is all about. I am not going to review this box set, it would take me all day, and I am not afraid to call a spade a spade, if it was shit I would say it was shit, and yes some of the backing tracks sound too modern but for f*cks sake - it's all we've got left of these people and this film should be compulsary viewing for anyone who has ever taken part in and enjoyed the Northern Soul scene. It is the best £30 you'll ever spend.
  6. Bloke refused to pay insurance and so I sent it recorded, it went missing, he claimed the whole lot back off me..I contested it..they've given me the money back and paid him off! Is this a first? Dear peter smith, As you know, we were recently notified that one of your buyers filed a chargeback with their card issuer. One of the unique benefits of PayPal is that we help you fight unwarranted chargebacks and attempt to recover your funds. Because your transaction met the requirements of the unauthorised payment protection, PayPal will cover the entire amount of the chargeback, including the fees. This case is now resolved. You don't need to take any additional action. Yours sincerely, PayPal
  7. Grahame Garden £80 Tim Brooke-Taylor £125 Bill Oddie £250 slightly scruffy I am truly sorry
  8. I would agree with that...£80 I was gonna say
  9. Definitely. Yours was the best scans site ever Benji.
  10. https://www.flickr.com/photos/raresoul/ might be of interest
  11. I found this free service hosted by Yahoo and it's totally free - you could store all your label scans in a gallery or whatever, anyway I've tested it with some reggae label scans and it's pretty good, see what you think, oh and if anyone knows how I can get these scans to appear on my own website I would love to hear from you https://www.flickr.com/photos/raresoul/
  12. I get suspicious when any mint copies of a title show up nowadays, because 2 weeks later another copy appears, then another etc etc
  13. F*ckin obvious isn't it?
  14. well there's certainly one on ebay - if it's a minter...beware!
  15. Heartbreak is out and out Northern, with chime bars, breaks, the lot
  16. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
I think I had 2 o 3 of those PSR demos, including the one you mention with Al Kent on it. I'll never remember what was on the others, though Gladys Knight may have been one one. Sorry, it was about 9 years ago, I only got £20 for the Al Kent one, bit surprised.
  17. https://shop.ebay.com/merchant/vinylrecordcutting asking for trouble doing The Quarrymen methinks
  18. I see it hasn't got his very best track - "Heartbreak", which came out on Polydor 45. He was Sam Cooke's nephew or something like that.
  19. To be honest, this is why I have hardly posted on this thread either.
  20. I might have this, I'll have a look for you after I've taken the monster to nursery...
  21. Sorry mate I had no idea anyone had ever posted it anywhere - I was going through a back ups folder and found all of the a capellas, I flogged the originals a few years ago and just kept all the insts and vocals on the pc. It was the first time I think I've ever listened to it.
  22. That's just part of the series. This is the one featuring Ask The Lonely https://www.amazon.com/Motown-Original-Arti.../ref=pd_sim_m_7
  23. Well I hadn't seen the first question and I replied to yours, and now I've gone back and replied to the first one. Didn't upset me, just thought it was an odd comment.
