Worst Record Played On The Scene
I heard Afternoon Of The Rhino the other day, totally by chance, sent shivers up my arms...it's got just about everything a Northern instrumental needs...also reminds me of my first steps on the scene. If Ghost In My House were discovered today it would be as big as it was back then I reckon. It's as good as most other Motown/Northern tracks.

The Herde * Gaturs Yeah You're Right ... Maurice Rodgers
Pleasure! Great record though. I'd have bought it myself except it would have ruined my image

Worst Record Played On The Scene
I love both of those as well...specially Shoes...what a voice

Worst Record Played On The Scene
I like both of them - Don Ray, always loved it, Curtis Lee one of the best newies of the last decade or so...

I've not heard that Gaturs record since 1976 or 77, there used to be a few copies around this area because Pep used to sell them via his shop, always told us it was going to go massive but despite a couple of spins countrywide, it never did. Sounds fantastic now.

Worst Record Played On The Scene
Chris - when I said the same about the Montclairs, which truly is painfully awful, this is the reply I got, so read it and start feeling ashamed of yourself "Well its not the worst, and its not a mess, and the vocals are great, and are pure soul music!! You should be ashamed to fault a record of this quaility, because its great and thats a fact!!"

European Origin Records That Have Gained Acceptance On The Ns Scene
No, don't be like that, it's worth sorting out this mystery - I still don't think it came out in the USA but would love to be proved wrong.

European Origin Records That Have Gained Acceptance On The Ns Scene
Thats correct, and Johnny was Johnny Curtis who did two good singles on Parlophone, died circa 1969. They were both Scottish.

Worst Record Played On The Scene
Possibly one of the best 10 northern soul records ever - except for the last 30 seconds

Worst Record Played On The Scene
Last time I said I disliked Bobby Kline I had a marauding mob after me - nice to see someone else has good taste

European Origin Records That Have Gained Acceptance On The Ns Scene
I'm also surprised about this Malc, I didn't think there was a US release either.

three of those are brilliant and Ben Zine isn't that bad...still, if we all liked the same thing etc

Dean Barlow - Third Window - On Radio 2 Now
Actually while you're here, you ever heard of this? I hadn't - I didn't even know there was anything collectable on this label https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lloyd-The-Matador-Th...86.c0.m14.l1318

Dean Barlow - Third Window - On Radio 2 Now
Just trying to move it away from 'Northern Soul' Tone - in that context, it is a bad record. On it's own - it's still a bad record
-
Lorraine Chandler - You Only Live Twice - 100 Club Anniversary 45
Not sure, but the B side was by someone like the Unknowns or the Nonames or something a bit vague!

Best Cover Of A Supremes Song?
Are you serious Simon?

Lorraine Chandler - You Only Live Twice - 100 Club Anniversary 45
Price please? I saw another 100 Club 45 on Ebay yesterday for £100, think it was Gigi & The Charmaines. Someone must be having a laugh? Lorraine about £50 maybe?

Dean Barlow - Third Window - On Radio 2 Now
That's what I meant Dave. Country and rock'n'roll and black pop. Way way too early sounding.

Mike Ancona & The Jokers On Chase
Not a bad uptempo dancer - just wondered if it was known - probably blue eyed. MIKE ANCONA & THE JOKERS - BOUND FOR LOVE - CHASE 6001 (Texas label?)
-
Dean Barlow - Third Window - On Radio 2 Now
Because it doesn't belong on the Northern scene. Might be good in it's own right, but here? No way.

That's ruined the day
