  1. Isn’t the spider turner “alive” on this blue variant, but not on a black or yellow?

Same as me mate,I still watch it now and it gives me the same affect as the first time!

My all time fave film is salems lot from the 70’s with David soul and James mason, however there has been talk of a remake in 2023 which promises to equal the original, the film is made but they keep delaying the release!
  4. Equally I also think the intruders better check yourself is up there with best, but because it’s readily available and (cheap ish) I’ve no desire to own it,however if it was an under 10 known copy record I would want it! Stupid I know, but I’m not interested In a room full of records I would never play, just a jewellery box of gorgeous items😂
  5. Yes for me it would be and is the best northern soul record ever,I just wouldn’t be interested in owning it if it was 10 a penny, the quality and the desirability are 2 separate things to me.
  6. Very well put mate👍
  7. Yes I’m afraid I am one of them where the higher the value the more blinded I become, for example I would love to bid on the Mello souls at what looks to be a high amount, but in all honesty,if it was a major label item with boxes of copy’s around, and it was a 10 quid record,I wouldn’t look twice at it! however it terms of QUALITY,it is the best northern soul record ever!
  8. You’ve been around long enough to know that the desirability of a record is driven by the value not the quality, especially on the way up! This record in question and off the top of my head..Clara hardy, royal esquires, these two also were big ticket items and you would have killed your mother for a copy, but then boxes turn up,then the value drops on its arse and no one wanted them, they would rot away in sales list at a 100 quid, but now the value has risen and rising, people want them again! It’s the same with everything I suppose, kids wouldn’t want Gucci if they were sold in sports direct for a tenner!
  9. I was just pondering what 60’s tunes are out there regardless of geography, value, raritie, could quite easily sit well in the shrine label catalogue,I’ve always felt this label has a unique sound,a bit messy here and there, but real and raw! I think this belter could have sat well on the label!
  10. Not far off! Nearly as bad as the inmates-this is the day😂
  11. Haha yeah that’s the one,the actual 45 is slower, which sounds ok,but when you’ve only heard(excuse the pun) the sped up version, the real one is a bit of a let down, you feel like you need to push it along😂
  12. I think the surname was “herd or heard)?
  13. I heard a tune on YouTube years back,it was the only video on there of a female artist on a yellow Motown vip (can’t remember her name, not a usual Motown name) it took me ages to find a copy, when it arrived and I played it,it was uncomfortably slower! The lesson being, don’t just listen to one copy of a song, seek out others!
  14. Am I right that a lot of copies turned up,I certainly remember a spell of it appearing on lists for 100 to 150 quid for a good while?
  15. I think Carl willingham broke the tune, and for a short while was a demand and pricey item, then of course eBay churned out many copies, until it was a 100 quid record, and of course less desirable as it got cheaper😂
  16. Well I’m not a dj,not a collector, but every now and then certain records I just like to own…even for a short while until the fantasy dies off, then back to reality with an eBay sale😂
  17. Brilliant memory of a record👍
  18. 😂 yeah your right, would have to be something special to get on par!
  19. I’m already selling my kids off,but your right,I will need more than 500 quid, might have to chuck the wife in to😂
  20. I actually sold it 9 years ago,I bought it set sale, not auction, and at the time I think between 6 and 8k would have been a expected amount, but just like the prophets, counts, don gardner, inspirations and now Mello souls, they very rarely come up for sale, mainly all auction now! And your gonna pay for the privilege 😂
  21. Junior McCants..that’s the one! I’ve had a lot of the shrine stuff including j d Bryant,I sold jd Bryant some 5 years ago for 8k,so I would imagine today it may get past the 10k mark. I doubt dc blossoms is in the top end,but certainly towards 3k ive had bill dennis 3 times, but never got more that 2.5k for them…all stone mint too!
  22. I couldn’t have put it better myself👍 Your right it does have JF on the back, that’s how I got to hear that tune too! Don’t recall it been sped up? food for thought though!
  23. Top end shrine stuff? Prophets, counts,jd Bryant? del larks, the one on king(can’t remember the guys name)? I think it’s a small list containing 10k plus items
  24. There’s been a few occasions where pitching works! In the 80’s I had only ever heard the Detroit prophets-suspicion,for me it was the ultimate new northern soul discovery, but then it turned out to be the Motown male group the originals but sped up to sound like a girl group! I didn’t and still don’t really like the original “originals” version! So I was dissapointed twice on that occasion😂
  25. Don’t know what the final amount will be but I know it’s coming home with me😉 Yeah I seem to recall jms a few years back, was it approx 12k?
