  1. Have to agree with you on that one Mark..............bloody hell I must be getting soft in my old age, agreeing with people including James QoFxx
  2. But James is just a misguided youth and underneath it all beats a caring heart..................well ok he has been known to believe his own publicity but you put him to shame in that, one day James will take his tongue out of his cheek where it has been firmly fixed for some time...................well I hope so. I don't dislike James as a person, infact I quite like him and enjoy the spats we have but you really seem to think that you invented northern soul and we actually need you back but hey, guess what, we don't. The scene has moved on helped by characters like James, all be it misguided sometimes, but it isn't the scene of the 70s anymore. OH and by the way, I hate the carstairs as well QoFxx
  3. Again I have to agree with you, my god James this is the third time I have agreed with you in 24 hours, must be a record (45, Demo original of course ) QoFxx
  4. To be fair James, as you know you and I have rarely seen eye to eye on anything, but to say that Ian talks to much when DJing is a bit like pots & kettles. I have heard you shout and swear at the floor before now and on one occassion shout at an empty dancefloor "if you don't like this then you don't like F**cking Soul" didn't the empty dance floor in a room full of time served soulies give you a bit of a clue. That's what put me off you as a DJ, BUT and it is a very big BUT you are definately going up in my estimation as a person with your open, honest, true and articulate posts over the last couple of days and I have had to agree with you on nearly all points Is this the start of a beautiful friendship..................................................... QoFxx
  5. James, I am totally shocked .....................for once I agree with you whole heartedly also agree with you on the IL point as well QoFxx
  6. Ahhh so its true, you started the thread just so people would be nice to you and massage your ego and the minute someone makes any negative comment you cry into your hanky and throw your dummy. QoFxx
  7. To be fair Ian, you do seem to be using this thread as a vehicle just to post clips of your "products" and not as a discussion forum. We all know about your latest stuff on you tube you don't have to keep posting clips of it, if we want to hear it we can find it ourselves for gods sake you've told us where to find it often enough. QoFxx
  8. Oh behave chalky just cos it was played at wigan doesn't make it even soul never mind NS. QoFxx
  9. Thankfully I was never at one of the nights when it was played, but it aint NS just cos it was played at wigan whether you like it or not. Unless the Soul Police (or Dave Rimmer ) would like to tell me different then I will bow to THEIR superior knowledge and rush out and find a copy to play at my birthday on the 30th . QoFxx
  10. Just being mischeivious, never went to wigan after 75 so I really did miss the disco "period" or maybe I just tried to blot it out like some bad childhood experience Note to self: do not get hypnotised I may start remembering QoFxx
  11. You were better looking then, if you don't mind me saying Obviously before the ravages of the NS scene got a grip QoFxx PS can you tell I bored stuck at home with a broken ankle and nothing better to do....................anyway you lot isn't it time you were all out enjoying yourselves
  12. So thast makes Joe 90 NS then QoFxx
  13. I knew I had seen you somewhere before Dave QoFxx ">
  14. Why so shocked, STeve does have these very very slight lapses in taste now and again , don't worry Steve plenty of 60s from you on the 30th should get you back on track QoFxx
  15. How does that work then Don't you mean some disco was played and accepted at Northern nights QoFxx
  16. Something to amuse me while I'm stuck at home with my broken ankle. QoFxx PS Paul, you didn't get back to me about tickets for the charity do on the 30th
  17. All depends on the ankle injury, in a perfect world would be at Solid Hit Soull on the Firday and Marrs Bar Allnighter on the Sunday QoFxx
  18. They only exist in their own inflated egos QoFxx

But if Argo is a subisd of chess and they released it surely it is just a re-release as they would of had the rights to it................not a copy I would buy or play but just interested int he semantics. QoFxx

My copy is on chess so I couldn't give a F**k but just if not a proper argo release I bow to your superior knowledge was just throwing a couple of spanners.............. Still one of the greatest records ever made.......................... QoFxx

How can it be a boot when it was released by a subsidiary of chess.......................a re-issue yes but not a boot Still think it shouldn't be played out but not a boot as it was a legal copy. QoFxx

Wikipedia:- Leonard Chess bought a stake in a record company called Aristocrat Records in 1947; in 1950 Leonard brought his brother Phil into the operation and they became sole owners of the company and renamed it Chess Records. In 1952 the brothers started Checker Records, as an alternative label for radio play (radio stations would only play a limited number of records for any one imprint). In December 1956 they launched a jazz label called Marterry, which was quickly renamed Argo Records. Argo changed its name in 1965 to Cadet Records to end confusion with an older British classical music label named Argo. QoFxx
