If going by music policy alone there can't be many land mark venues from the 90's and 2000's. There haven't been that many that have consistently pushed the boundaries .

  3. Latest News and Info on the Lifeline Weekender Full information and the latest new on this upcoming event. Not long now for the Lifeline Soul Club's first Real Deal Rare Soul Weekender to be held 3rd, 4th &5th of February 2006..... Being held at the "Ye Old Bell" Barmy Moor near Retford. Here's what the Hotel says of its self and having seen it we can only agree!! "The Ye Olde Bell, one of the most distinctive hotels in Nottinghamshire is set in several acres of beautiful grounds close to Sherwood Forest in the heart of Nottingham's enchanting countryside. It has all the charm and character you would expect from one of England's oldest coaching inns, with its oak panelled rooms, log fires and leaded windows. Guests are assured of all the modern day comforts required by the most discerning of guests. The surrounding area is rich in history. Nottingham and York are less than an hours drive away." The hotel is sold out but there is a travel lodge close by at Blyth Services from where we will be hoping to run a mini bus from there to the venue for those who cannot get a room at the venue (if there are enough stopping there). There are also B&B's in Blyth itself and the surrounding area. I'll post some further details as soon as possible. Weekend passes are still available for £35. The music policy for the weekend will be the same as the successful Lifeline all-nighters, upfront, rare, unissued, cheap, expensive, forgotten &thinking man's and woman's oldies.....anything as long as it isn't played week in week out DJ's confirmed include Butch, Andy Dyson, Mick H, Soul Sam, Cliff Steele, Chalky, Kitch, Dean Anderson, Arthur Fenn, Tim Brown, Rob Thomas, Andy Whitmore & Christian Brodsjoe. Others who have gladly given there services free for the afternoon sessions include the London Mafia Marco, Teff and Tony Smith, Hammy (the Scottish one), Ali &John Nightingale, Glyn Thornhill, Brett Franklin, Jamie &Rich (Soulsville), Ged Parker, Mick Howard, James Trouble & others....quality assured I think you will agree!! To reserve your pass for the weekendor for further enquiries please e-mail Chalky @ chalky@soultown.eclipse.co.uk (or telephone 07743 863 523) or Andy Dyson @ Dysonsoul@aol.com (01302 744927) or Mick @ Trentsoul@aol.com This will also mark Lifeline's second anniversary

It was probably great in the era you went for many others, just not me. Was too much into newies to go back to oldies week in week out, still am Was one of the reason I didn't do so many nighters mid 90's. Flyer from 80''s....

Tony's...when, which era? Guy Hennigan era or after (90's)? It was never the same after Guy stopped doing it. It was in 87/88 one of the best upfront venues in the country with all the top "newies" dj's appearing there. With the later re-emergance of Northern Soul in the 90's the music went backwards so stopped going.
  6. Dan, I think your getting paranoid and shit stirring mixed up Like I said, I wouldn't dream of saying something out of order in sales and dismissing someones price but like we both said this is in a discussion section
  7. Original or boot? Boot £15 Original depends who is selling it owt between £60 and £100. Cheapest seen on ebay this year £46. Rarely see it in a box for less than £60 - £80. Cheapest I can find on ebay this year went for £46.

Reckon it was £50 when we listed it but like I said it was while back...tis harder to find than most think. Dunno if you'd get the price you wanted on e-bay though Kirsty

The Intruders version of A Love Thats Real (Eptones) had the odd spin, most notably by Colin Wood.

Ted asked for a soundfile of this in Trouty's wants, I'll stick one up in sounds now. Listed one of these couple of years ago. Can't remember price but it has gone up in value since. Wouldn't mind an accurate value me self
  12. vinyl demo boots...yep
  13. The real ones are ZTSC stamped and on styrene...issues and demos. Boot is on vinyl.
  14. Not the Topics, different group, although don't think they had anything issued. One of the acetates is uncredited I think but both Bernard Williams and Blue Notes, pretty certain about that....one 7 inch and one 8 or ten inch
  15. Take it that was a reference to me First off the question was why someone would pay so much for a Ringleaders in TALK VINYL. I gave my opinion...just like you do on numerous occasions. If this was in sales I wouldn't say anything but as it was a discussion about the Ringleaders in another forum why shouldn't I be able to say what I think? Is there owt in the post yet?
  16. yep...thats the one I was thinking off but I'd also had a few beers It's on one of the acetates of Tears Tell The Whole Sad Story (Needless To Say), the one Rob Thomas owns I think. Can't remember whats on the flip of the one Kitch owns.
  17. thinkin of wrong acetate Ted
  18. got the acetate/studio cut somewhere, sounds so much better. anyone got the Rags To Riches from the acetate?

Used to have a 70's record (or was it 80's ) by Carl Weathers - You Ought To be With Me (Mirage). Same Carl Weathers who played Apollo Creed in Rocky etc?
  22. Chalky replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
Antellects is far better record..I wouldn't turn one down Compared to Joey Lady In Green is as good as it gets
