Just an exceptional superb, genre busting, rare 45. One on Nev's plays at the moment I think. A very reluctant sale and I will take offers on it until Tuesday. Its vg+ and has a few small hisses but doesn't affect it when played out. Good , exciting, soulful, underplayed or semi-known, unknown tunes are the way forward. There are loads of them out there and people are starting to listen apparently. Thats what keeps what was originally a forward thinking scene moving forward.

I bow to your trainer knowledge mate...i have no recollection that far back. I only know i used whatever worked on the dance floor for me.

I was 15, but looked 12. ha! I think they might have been Puma .....totally agree with the floor to sloppy and the need for trainers.

Basically, each to there own and I know i used trainers back in 76 (see pic). Did a lot of acro then and you need grip for that. So with talc and trainers you got a balance. But some want leather to float or spin without talc etc. I used to take brogues and trainers and use what i felt was right that night. So many ways of dancing so going to be different footwear. Some of the best dancers I've seen have been women just casually floating around in heels .

I love Melbourn, it has a bunch of very knowledgable and soulful collectors and Dj's. As i have a 21 year old daughter there, i have visited a lot! Sam Goldie switched me on to many records as did Callum Flack. Then you have Alex White and Frankie Driscoll both with great collections. Vince runs a fun night at the Cherry so visit that. As far as digging, these guys have already dug and i would be surprised if you find anything. I did turn up a few copies of Bethea - Ghetto Love in 2002 along with some original Jon Lucien LPs (rare), but apart from that not a lot. My John Harris came from OZ and these guys have great stuff to trade, but you need to take great stuff to tempt them and definitely not old school Northern Soul. Great city and friendly crowd of people whenever you go out to a night.

Dobby grey.....isn't he in Harry Potter? Straight away you can tell its written by an outsider. Reads like Eastenders and sounds like it too. She's writes TV mini-series type stuff and this would seem the next vehicle.

Have to agree, first three notes and i want to go home because I know, as Chalky says, Im in for an unimaginative, boring night with a dj who's not listened to too much music in his life.
