  3. This morning while eating my branflakes I heard something getting stuffed through my letterbox...panic at first as I'm waiting on a couple of tunes to arrive...but too early for the postie -09:38..just thought then it was junk mail...panic over!!! Went down to the door about an hour later and too my horror was a brown envelope clearly marked from USA, just big enough to house a 45.....my heart sank and panic set in, the noise of it being stuffed through the door biw ringing in my head......I picked the envelope up feeling for pieces....hmm just seemed a bit bendy....opened up the envelope to see a white demo if Otis Leavill on limelight... surrounded only by one small piece of bubble wrap....Still in one piece!!! Oh lord thank you!!!!....not ridiculously rare but a gorgeous white demo in mint condition. I've since emailed the seller with some advice on packing tunes, to which they were grateful for the advice.....one of the lucky days indeed.
  4. Linda Queen for me all the way...its the one I remember Guy playing.....really evokes great memories this tune does

Most copies of Edwin Starr I've seen advertised for sale although not in great condition to look at, usually still play really well, lound n clear etc.....my copy of Edwin Starr falls into this bracket, not great to look at but plays as good as a mint copy....my copy of Fantastic Four is just glorious all round, plays and looks mint -

Hi Mark....I thought I'd read on SS the one that Butch played/plays was the Volcanos?....probably wrong, but defo the best version by a mile.
  13. Hi Joan...that will be the case as you said about a previous copy for sale.....and defo one of the best records in the Dennison household, and defo not many better tunes around....x
  14. Joan I bought the last one that went through JMs auction....I got it for £780. Bit of good news story for me really, I bought my first copy from Rob Marriott at Allanton for £250...sold it about 8 years ago for £1000 and regretted it straight away....so was delighted when one came up on JMs auction....doubly delighted at the price of £780....so effectively this copy only cost me £30, in a round about collectors thinking type of way....happy days....it's a sparkler of a copy too. The only thing being that the one I bought off Rob still had the original Sellotape marks on the vinyl from when it was covered up, so who ever has that copy has one of the first copys to be played out on the scene.
  15. Do you have an asking price for your records?

  20. Hi...I had the same dilema when I was lookin for a copy....my head wiz bursting with what one was what.....so here`s my thoughts which may or maynot help..lol. I eventually settled on the orange Carrie issue which is the first Carrie issue, the green Carrie I believe is a legal 70s repress..The cut is slightly differt but not that youd notice.....The Jameco release again I believe is a slightly later release..(68/69)? from Orange Carrie and again slightly different cut, still not much differce to my ears though, still fabulous. The Mary Jane issue is definately a differt cut, slightly less drums but more backing singers and harmonies and is equally as good...the only thing being you dont get the superb..`Call Me` on the flip....all the Carrie issues do....which is why i decided on the Carrie 45. Pricewise, the Carrie orange is between £200 - £350...Jameco up to £100...Mary Jane around £100 and carrie green£20/30
