Top album indeed Ken "good ears" Aitch, not really a bad track on there and still quite cheap comparitively speaking.Afraid I am rather biased when it comes to Marlena tho. The words "yellow pages and sing the she could" spring to mind. Cheers Paco

Philly Groove Records
Nice LP Maverick, love their version of "Be Thankful For What You've Got" also on there. Both the tracks you mention also came out on 45 too, "Nice Girl Like You" over here in Holland too in a most attractive picture sleeve and Germany but with a diferent picture. Neither of which are the topless version of the LP cover! Cheers Paul

Don't think your memorys serving you very well on this one Maverick, I'm sure the Intruders did'nt record for Philly Groove. Would be happy to be proved wrong tho. Kent put out a couple of Philly Groove comps a few years ago. Deep and Deeper in the Philly Groove CDKEND 115 and167. Love the Finishing Touch track too, picked up a promo copy recently. Is yours a stock copy Lolmil? Would like to hear the B side if it is. Cheers Paul

Sure Ken will introduce you.- Bert Decoteaux
Yes, Derek I'm well pleased to finally get some "inside" info. Can"t take all the credit for the thread tho, like I said in my first post(which seems an awful long time ago now) I'm asking partly on behalf of a non soul source friend, John 'Kipper' Kerr, whos off to the 100 club tonight so you can give him a pat on the back if you're going! Appreciate your contribution too mate, lets hope those photos come through and Chris has some more Bert tales. Cheers Paul- Love Committee from 1978
Have'nt got LP but is the 45 you mentioned "Am I Wasting Time"?- ann sexton on 77

Wow Chris what a great post!! Fantastic to have some "inside" information on Bert, I didn't realise he'd worked with Pat Lundy, another fine talented artist. Like you say he does have amazing career credits which is one of the reasons we found it so strange that he remained such an enigma to us. Please feel free to add anymore info it is MUCH appreciated, and the prospect of some photos of the great man in action so to speak is probably gonna keep me awake all night! Thanks very much, Cheers Paul- Love Committee from 1978
Fantastic Sunnysoul, never seen footage of the great Love Committe before. Was lucky enough to meet Dexter Wansell last year in Philly , he told me they were one of his favourite bands and were about to go big when Ron Tyson left for the Tempts.love the Law 'n' Order LP too! Cheers Paul- Bert Decoteaux
Thanks for that John, maybe one for Simon Whites Manifesto column! Cheers Paul- Bert Decoteaux
Thanks for confirming that Derek. Sad news, so they're both gone but thier musical legacy will live on through us.Like so many others they never got thier proper recognition while they could appreciate it. At least ole Norberts back on the Soul Source "front page". Cheers Paul- Bert Decoteaux
Thanks for that John Just read somewhere else that Tony Sylvester had recently died, anyone confirm? Cheers Paul - Pittsburgh Rare Soul 45's
