CHARITY SOUL @ the WINDSOR, BRIDLINGTON. After having a discussion with Mick, the landlord at the Windsor Hotel we have come to the conclusion, due to the government and local council restrictions imposed about covid regulations regarding seating, social distancing and reduced music sound levels that it would not be viable, feasible or enjoyable to go ahead with the Soul weekender planned here. We are fully behind Mick in his decision and understand the dilemma he was facing. We look forward to working with the Windsor management at future dates and will.keep our supporters posted about these events. Thanks for your past support. "A great little event, many of the people do not want to spend all day in the Spa, some do, this is located within 5 minutes walk and a great place to meet up before, after or during the larger venue event if you want to break out for a while. in answer to "oldboldmod" 100% a charity event, we all give our time and efforts for free, hope to see you there." Quite correct Andy, you are very welcome spin a few discs at the Windsor -

Hardly a clash, more of a CHARITY SOUL EVENT raising funds for prostate cancer, which happens to coincide with the much, much larger and far greater attended Spa weekender. I'm sure you'd agree that our much smaller FREE entry event is highly unlikely to have any significant impact on the attendance at the Spa, as our CHARITY event starts from 14.00 hrs and finishes around 20.00 hrs in the evening during the soul weekend. If you've been to the the Brid. Weekenders you'll find there are other venues playing soul music at this particular time viz; Victoria Sailors & Working men's club From my past experience of the weekender, these clubs and pubs take onboard the fact that the majority of 'soulies' attending the weekender like to move around the town a visit various music based locations around Bridlington ( including the Windsor), and the fact that the Spa in the afternoons is relatively quite, thus you'll find that these establishment's take advantage of this passing trade. hope to see you at the Windsor -

Charity Soul @ the Capricorn Goole - SOLD OUT cancelled
Finger crossed that this will go ahead. The inaugural event in February 2020 was an absolute 'packer' so with the current situation in mind we have decided to limit the entry to those names on a reserved entry list. The cut off number for entry will be 180. We are very close to this figure now so if you wish to attend make your reservation now. To add your name to this list contact: Dave Johnson 07487 589178

BBC Radio 2 - Motown Weekend -This Weekend
Richard encompassed in one hour what Red Dwarf and Trevor Nelson failed to do in six hours. Still the criteria for their selection says it all "Top Motown 100 Streaming and Downloaded" a newcomer would think that Motown comprised of Lionel Richie, Diana Ross and Boyz to Men lol. Strange that nowhere in any show was a mention of Motown's first big chart success Barrett Strong's 'Money'

End of an era:New beginnings
The end of an era has arrived. After 5 years of donating a fantastic cumulative sum of £72k to stem cell research for prostate cancer at York University Cancer Research Centre to Professor Norman Maitland and achieving startling results, a new era has arrived where we have now today donated £10k to Professor Maitland’s able assistant Dr Fiona Frame. Due to Norman’s retirement and the closure of the York Centre Dr Frame has accepted a new post at the University of Hull’s Biology dept where we will continue to give her our full support in the elusive chase of finding help , support and maybe one day a cure for prostate cancer. Here is our first donation to Fiona, plans are on-going to help create a fully equipped laboratory that can fight these horrific diseases and maybe one day make a massive difference in the fight. So to everyone who has contributed to our cause, either DJ’d, helped promote, donated, helped with raffles and anything else, you know who you are, a massive thank you to you all, be assured we are moving in the right direction with further events planned at Newark, Whitby, Serena (Spain), Norwich and Banbury, and long may it continue until we finally make a difference to help stop suffering!! Lots of love and friendship from Charity Soul Terry Hopkinson Chairman and Founder of Charity Soul presenting cheque for £10,000 to Dr. Fiona Frame
