Ya seem to forget Kenny i'm one of the old staff mi'sen. Just been chatting with Adrian & he's well up for it. Off to have a chat with bar manager later in the week so i'll let you know more when i know myself. Just got to sort out some dates so we don't clash with anything (not easy, believe me).

Look no further Sean, we're doing a Clifton revival night at Bar 10 this summer just round the corner from the old Clifton building. Keeping it as real as possible, Steve Mannion doing a spot for us & possibly Darran Arden (hope i spelt ya name right Darran). Not only that but it gives me a chance to dust off some stuff of my own (King Tutt, Larry Brown, Marvell Love, Richie Parker etc). Wev'e even got Adrian on the door! Fancy gracing us with your presence behind the decks Sean? Who knows, even Crofty might make an appearance! Mart...
  4. As you have said there's no problem with this thread i have re-opened it.
  5. Ian, i thought the women on the door were Dave & Bri . They'd have given em a run for they're money Best watch my back now as i've just seen that Dave's reading this
  6. Janine, i think you have got hold of the wrong end of the stick here. If you read what i wrote in post 7 you will see i wasn't slagging off the event at all, just the door staff who had absoloutely no respect whatsoever for the people in the queue or the people who popped out & were not let back in. I did not speak to Terry personally but others in our party did & from what we could make out Ginger gave him a right bo***cking as he had arranged to turn up late. (i will pm you his reply, i think you will be suprised).
  7. Cheers Simon Nice version Mark & now it's been posted up on here i don't think John will have em in for long.
  8. Will keep an eye out for it Mark, any chance of a soundclip? Thank's, Mart...
  9. Thank's for the help guys. Never thought of trying gemm, looked in Mr Manships 2nd price guide & it wasn't listed so i guess it's time i got myself a copy of the new one. Mart...
  10. Is that the real wife Rod or the ventriloquist's dummy?
  11. Anyone?
  12. Just wondering if anybody's got any idea how much McKinley Travis - Get Myself Together (Soultown S-11)is worth, just that a mate wants it off me & i said i'd trade some stuff for it. Thanks, Mart...
  13. Top class Rod, Just wondering where you put your hand
  14. Thanks for the comments guy's. Having read my 1st post again i'm just adding a bit to it. I realise this was'nt a fault of Terry's & hope he does'nt think this is some sort of swipe at his venue, far from it as it was great to stand back & look at 2 rooms of folks enjoying themselves last night. The main thing i'm hoping for is for someone to have a quiet word in his ear so he can pass on the info to the management & hopefully nothing similar will happen again. All that was needed on the night was a bit of common sense by the 2 girls on the door, perhaps they could have let us wait in the downstairs area as it was bloody freezing & the occasional "i'm sorry" would'nt have gone amiss. Julian, Spent most of the night in the landing area myself. I think you're getting me mixed up with Ian Cunliffe, i'm called cunnie cos i can lick my eyebrows. Ask the missis, she'll explain . John, mate's stereo was bust so that was'nt an option (anyone who know's Errol will know exactly what i mean ) Think my next venture over the pennines will be to pop in & say hello to the Greatstone boys. Hope you're ready for a few more Yorkshire invaders lads Lata, Mart...
  15. Made my once a year visit to Prestwich last night & i've got to say it's my last visit. We arrived at about 9-45 and then the fun started. there was a small queue of about 15 in front of us. The bouncers on the door were operating a 1 in 1 out policy as they said it was full, fair enough, we should have arrived early. After about 1/2 an hour a few folks started to trickle out but by now the queue was at least 50 deep & blocking the passageway. That's when the doorstaff (2 big girls who looked like Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum!) started getting awkward, a woman in front of us asked if she could nip in to use the Ladies. No chance, she finished up having to go to the railway station. Next a young lad came out to use a cash machine, would they let him back in? would they hell. This is when things really got daft, Ginger Taylor arrived as he was DJ'ing & guess what - they would'nt let him in (jobsworths or what!). When we finally got in at 11pm Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum said it was a fire risk to let any more in (surely a blocked exit door is a bigger fire risk). Funny thing is i've been to Prestwich loads of times before & on every occasion it's been a lot fuller than last night. Anyway it got to about 11-15 & thats when i really got pissed off, Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum decided to let everyone else in after all, so we were all a fire risk at 10pm but not at 11-15. Anyone else had these problems there?
  16. Were great days (late 70s - early 80s). Some great dancers about then (in both rooms). Always wished it would go wrong & speed up, now that would be worth seeing Always liked the dancefloor at Clifton Hall in my home town of Rotherham but i'm no expert on the topic as i dance like my avatar
  17. Nottingham Palais had a great floor in the main hall but the revolving floor in the Jazz Funk room stole the show. Got on it at 1 side of the room & finished up at the other side. Some great emotive dancers in there as well, not your normal run of the mill jumped up acrobats I know, i'll get mi coat
  18. That's the short version. Here's the full lengh version. Boy meets girl, boy gets girl, boy gets LaBeat demo, girl divorces boy, boy has to sell LaBeat demo to pay off girl....This Won't Change

If i was selling mine (i'm not before you ask) i'd be looking for at least 120 in cash or 150 in trades, like everyone say's you just don't see em any more. Got told once that a follow up was recorded called Busting The Pusherman on the same label in a picture cover, also told it was a bag of shite. Any info

Ha, Crofty bought it off me many years ago in Lincoln, took me bloody years to get another copy. Just to satisfy my curiosity what's it going for now?

A wire brush & a bottle of domestos works quite well. Also a good cure for piles

Surgical spirit from a chemists is as good as owt else & only costs a few pence. Also good for getting marker pen off labels if your'e careful. Like Stuart say's though, don't go near an acetate with it. Only a downright idiot would do that.
