  1. Up to now we've highlighted possible plays of the Blue eyed variety and classic northern, also a couple for the modern room and now Kev's started the album track selections for the main room, here's one that I'm pretty certain will get requested, Pervis Lee "You don't care" Not forgetting this, one of the greatest album only tracks played on the scene, hear Guy H announce this at Stafford covered up as Bobby Paris at the beginning of the clip

  3. Kev, My wife wants a stiffie but she's no chance of that. lol (I blame it on the marching powder).
  4. Yes I think this was their first release The Moments Profile: Soul vocal trio. Formed in Washington in the mid-'60s. Larry Mizell & Fonce Mizell with Freddie Perren signed them at Hog (2). Sylvia Robinson then signed them at Stang Records. After the initial changing line ups they started having hits as the trio that later in the late '70s evolved to Ray, Goodman & Brown. Al Goodman b. 31/03/1947, Jackson, Mississippi, U.S.A.
  5. One for the main room methinks, Imagine the mayhem this would have caused on the dancefloor at Wigan had it been known. The Moments "Nine times" then this one "Baby I want you" obviously not straight after "Nine times", build up to it then WOOOSH
  6. Just 5 days to go before the next instalment at Culcheth Sports Club, J.B.Troy "Live On" is another that I'm sure isn't everybody's cup of tea, well I like mine strong with 2 sugars and this tastes fine to me. I can't remember hearing this at any of the previous Culcheths but I could be wrong.
  7. Baz, I remember Portrait "I can call you" always being well received in the Prestwich modern room.
  8. I Know this one isn't to everybody's taste but I'm quite partial to a bit of classic Blue eyed Northern soul like this one.
  9. Any Marvin Gaye played in any Modern Room is always a treat to hear and this track "Heavy love affair" is no exception. Just absolutely brilliant.
  10. Yes me to.
  11. TUUUUUNE. Gary Bartz "Keep goin' on" always loved it.
  12. Hi Kev, I had a similar situation when I tried to get a Celeste Hardy for my wife, but the seller said he'd prefer cash. BOOM BOOM I'm here all week lol
  13. Yes of course Mick, it's my favourite version as well, nice one for reminding me.
  14. Not just current floor shakers but classics from way back when, like this one from Stemmons Express and a possible selection in Robbos play box. He can play either side for me...
  15. Simon will you be playing The Versatones "Rollin Rollin" at Culcheth........ If not.......Then can I have it please... you know I'll look after it lol I could only find this one with both sides uploaded on you tube but both sides are great so no problem, Rollin Rollin's on 2nd.
  16. This was lurking in the same box, it's been so long since I played them it's like having 2 new records.
  17. The Accents "You better think again"Just found this lurking in a cardboard box at home, this was always my preferred side
  18. Jessie Pinkman commented on Eddiefoster's comment on an event in Soul Nights

Mick and if he does a J Slipmat (sorry John) and plays the wrong side then that's no detriment as that sides great as well.
  19. J.J.Caillier Pusherman, played as a newish release in the 70's at places like Cleethorpes Pier, Blackpool Mecca etc now fast forward 45years to Culcheth and it still did the business dancefloor wise and is a firm favourite of Mick & Angie and will no doubt get played again this month.
  20. Here's one that I personally haven't heard played out for a while. not rare but brilliant and a definite for the next Culcheth
  21. Simon what's the chance Robbo will give Guitar Ray a spin, make sure he brings it with him.
  22. Surprised Simon, The only thing that surprised me about it was I didn't know it until you played it at Culcheth a couple of years ago. Edwin where have you been all my life. lol
  23. It was great to see Rob Haigh last month and this classic from Porgy & the Monarchs was greeted with his usual enthusiasm. Hopefully this will get you in the mood for the next one.
  24. I seem to remember a banner above the stage that said "ANOTHER BOOOOOOOOOMING GREAT SUCCESS". I always wondered what happened to that banner?
