    I still do mate
  2. Now there's one I ain't heard before...classic
  3. I loved OHS...only other club I felt really at home at since Bradford...can't think why Didn't discover that place until very late on in it's life either...which is probably just as well or I'd probably have burned myself out there. And if I'd started going to Bradford earlier I definitely would never have completed my degree...I came out of temporary retirement to go there and boy oh boy am I glad I did. I read on here a while back that Barry was considering a Bradford Reunion but I'm not sure where that notion of his went to...that would be the bestest thing ever....just one more night to see if the magic is still there...and of course it would be. OHS-come-Bradford...nowt finer...I for one would be in heaven Think me and you should work our magic and see what we can come up with...
  4. Hi Richard how ya doin mate ok I hope. You won't see me anymore at Southport as I've well and truly retired. Can't remember the last time I was there. Must be my age and a menopausal thing I think I must have missed out on the first bit of Bradford cos I was off the scene raving and I didn't know about it til 90, maybe 91. I'd have been back like a shot if I'd known what I was missing Loved the playlists too, I also kept em, probs still got em in the bottom of old handbags somewhere in the attic/garage, cos that's a hoarder for you. I'd have travelled to the ends of the earth and back for Bradford, that's how much I loved it. Mind you you travelled far enough my lad Happy memories indeed...if I could just go back there one more time...I'd wanna go again
  5. I wasn't there from the start but Phil took me..."There's this great club at Bradford and you've got to come cos you'd love it and there's these ***** you can get called ***** and you've got to try em" Little did I know that the experience would be life-changing. I'm sure I went for a lot longer than 6 months but I could be wrong. Never went upstairs only downstairs...the only time I went upstairs was to go to the ladies...hated that passing through bit...used to shut my eyes and block out the music...t'was just a tad difficult trying to maintain balance walking about...can't for the life of me think why
  6. I knew you'd moved to Stockton but didn't know that you were still there nor that you had re-married. Yes it was Gary from Hartlepool! Thanks for the reminder mate PM me with some dates when you'll be back home and then we can arrange a meet up. I've got loads to tell you too. Take care mate.
  7. Wot are you like with your early morning posts
  8. Hi You Yet another Bradford space cadet...I met peeps there that I'm still in touch with now...best time of my life that was. Long time no hear mate, hope all is ok in your world anyway
  9. Good choice...that's my second top 3
  10. How spooky is that Ali? I've just listened to it and it made me get that tingly feeling. I bet I was there as well...never missed if I could help it...wouldn't even go on holiday cos I'd have had to miss at least one...well never missed from the time I started but wasn't there from the beginning, more's the pity. As for diaries I've not got any of them...life was far too messy back then for any form of organisation...no pics either Wish I'd done some taping...I used to do that mind...made some tapes at Burnley Bank Hall Miners...still got em somewhere, hoarder that I am...none from Bradford though...my recorder had given up the ghost long before that and I never replaced it. Happy days
  11. See what I mean...Ali thanks for your support and I've giggled all the way through reading your post and then some...still laughing now But I have thought of three...watch one of em not have even been played there...I was in a different place every time I was there...thanks to Webby 1. Sue Challoner-Answer My Prayer 2. Lenny Williams-Gotta Lota Luv 3. Johnny Bristol-Come To Me My fave ever club by a country mile, I loved the bones of it, it shaped my musical taste into what it is today and for that I will be forever grateful.
  12. Good Lord...well I never...where are you based these days? If still local we'll have to hook up and play catch up...that will take forever Someone told me they'd seen you recently and that you're doing fine...can't remember who or where...onset of Alzheimer's sorry  Good to hear from you mate

I don't think I've ever seen you doing backdrops...bit of dancing in the rain on a one at Bradford rave cave with your shoes and socks off but that's about as far as it got mate

When I take a look in the gallery I start off with real enthusiasm but after a while it just gets "same old same old" and I find that I'm not really taking in what I'm seeing so give up. It's probably got a lot to do with the fact that I neither know nor recognise the people in the pics as I'm very out of touch with the Northern scene as it is these days as I left it all behind before Wigan closed back in the day. My 8 year old son who has a head full of magic most of the time sometimes takes a look with me but never for very long as he just doesn't get it at all...comments like "Jeez how old is he/she" and "Why is that place open when its almost empty" and "It's all very sad mum" and "What are they wearing"...says it all really. I try describing the history against that backdrop but it doesn't bode very well...he just shakes his head in disbelief and says "Aye right whatever..." and looks at me as if I'm bonkers. Then I do the youtube thing and it doesn't get any better I can tell you cos then all I get is "Why are they all dancing like twats" and "how long ago was all that" and "freaky music" (cos I don't play Northern at home or in the car so he's not used to hearing it) and "bunch of wide-eyed weirdos". So I don't think he'll ever be part of that "new blood" category...but I am becoming slightly concerned as he is developing a fixation with Michael Jackson...not quite at the moonwalking stage yet but give him time

Seconded...for me nowhere else comes close
  20. I know it did and it seemed fitting to mention it here...and remember its all in the footwork...and yours truly is impeccable...cos I made a point of watching it afterwards...totally controlled and you make it look so easy...which it isn't...I don't know how you lot do it as it takes me all my time to walk properly when I'm out never mind dance...oh well I might just get the hang of it one day It was nice to see one of the younger ones being so genuine and sincere as well...he was a good little mover too...puts me to shame but there again dancing has never really been my forte I wonder if I would benefit from a few lessons with that Northern Soul dance teacher
  21. Yes my musical path went onwards and upwards after Wigan...soulful house all the way mate and I've never looked back...bit too old to be a Househead though but if I had my time over again I would be for sure Oh forgot to mention Tashan at Fleetwood Weekender
  22. Personal choice we're talking about...you have yours and I have mine
  23. I thought I was on my own...I seem to think there was only you for company but its all a tad vague and hazy...maybe the F**kwit was there after all Yes was in red mini...I think Its all your fault my memory is like this PM for you...hope you know how to get em as I know all this is new to you
