Marty Lewis from New Orleans
Any of you New Orleans experts know any history of this guy? He both performed and had a label "Big Deal" that had releases by Oliver Joy among others. I can't find anything about him on the Internet.

Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed delay
I've been expecting a record from the UK since December. I'm in the U.S. It was sent "tracked and signed." There was a little progress in early January, but it's been stuck at Langley since January 10 with the message that "We have received your item at LANGLEY HWDC, our international processing centre. Your item is being prepared for despatch overseas." Should I just keep waiting? Anyone have any idea when international mail is going to get going at a good rate again?

How do you define a collector?
I suppose I was referring to "record collectors." I guess "music collectors" may exist, but I think of them as "music obsessives."
-
How do you define a collector?
I think it's easy: Suppose a song you like is on both a rare original record and a better-sounding source (either record or digital source). Would you pay a lot more for the record than for the better sounding source? If so, you are a collector. My sympathies, as a fellow collector.

Jnixon, I'll count you in. Amsterdam Russ, I'll count you in for only half a share.- Rare record investing idea
Currently on Discogs "Do You Love Me" by Senator Jones is selling for about $6K U.S. Although I suppose I could afford that, I'd rather stay married. The record has been on Discogs for more than a week, so I suspect others feel similarly. I had this idea: If, say, six of us split the cost as an investment, this would be much more affordable. We could sell audio copies of the records as NFTs (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-fungible_token) to DJs, who could also claim to own a copy of the record. And if at some point we all decide to sell the record (hopefully for a profit), we can. We'll keep the record at my house.- Benny Spellman "Ammerette"
