  1. Ken, you're keeping up at a ferocious pace here ... still catching up: P.P. Arnold:
  2. Was about to put this in another thread "why was this not a hit" but this seems to be LP only so more appropriate here - Lou Rawls at the tail end of Philly's glory days:
  3. Kenny Mac and Steve Guarnori have championed this in recent years, but it still deserves a push - Merv Murphy:
  4. Monique Bingham, as featured on this Jonny Montana remix of Ralf Gum:
  5. Debra Cooper of Change (she replaced Jocelyn Brown):
  6. Or possibly that there was enough Philly-type soul around at the time. By 1979 disco was in full flight and the Philly sound was beginning to sound dated, or maybe too polished for people more excited by funkier or rawer material. Would be good to hear it played out more today.
  7. And since we've started the Ds, Carol Douglas:
  8. A very underplayed Isaac Hayes production by Linda Clifford:
  9. Oh dear, catching up once again... Was reminded of this lady by Colin Brown - Nancy Butts:
  10. We'll be here for the rest of the decade!
  11. Brenda Cuffari produced by Dunn Pearson Jr
