Thanks a lot Roburt for a informative answer, just what I needed. Follow up: Do you have an idea of how this hired studios worked, was that a kind of business to run a studio for hiring, was it normal, could you find it in a normal sized city?

Over the years I've seen loads and loads of different soul labels. Many of these released maybe only one 45 and has been described as a "private label". What does that mean? Did there exist studios where you could record a song and then release it on your own label?

I'm looking for a (vinyl) copy of Smithstonians "Mississippi mud". Issue only.

Nothing from Adav90, so I'll keep this.

I have a original (Ex+/M-) that I might let go for the right trade.

Maybe a bit tired of it now, but it's been a big hit at Oslo Soul Experience for at least 10 years, works really well with the young crowd. BMaybe it's time to play the other side?

Just a tip: if you're going for a vinyl copy you should go for the Canadian press, all US are styrene as far as I know.

I have not heard the other on Decca, but I will now :-) I made a edit of the "put a spell" where the middelpart is removed and made a 7" carver. I got to say it myself, it's really well done and it's a f***ing killer.

Nice copy to a nice price :-) B-side is also very good IMO!
